12:25a - Welcome to the 77th Annual Academy Awards: All Beyonce; All the Time
It's usually a safe bet to count on blackfolk to bring the wank on certain topics, and the commentary on the Oscar show doesn't disappoint. Pretty much everyone agrees that Jamie Foxx and Morgan Freeman deserved their naked gold statues, but when jemgirl wonders when the Oscars became the Beyonce Show, the splooge starts to fly.
First, people suggest that maybe she should go a little lighter on the eye makeup next time. karnythia is underwhelmed by Beyonce's French pronunciation, and recumbent_goat is boggled when Beyonce comes out and sings the Polar Express song with Josh Groban. (He wasn't the only one.)
Then chiefwiggins steps in, because the only reason that anyone would be complaining about Beyonce is racism or possibly jealousy. denim_queen is having none of that and lets loose with an impressive, if somewhat incoherent shot:

12:32p - Come for the design, stay for the wank
Graphic designer Michael Bierut posts an article in a design blog musing about a young designer who has produced a piece in the style of Barbara Kruger without knowing who Barbara Kruger is.
Someone claiming to be a young graphic design student named 'Jessica Simpleton,' who is either one of the most clueless people I've run across today or is a brilliant troll, shows up to complain about the impossibility of remembering every graphic designer ever, accuse all designers over 45 of being hopelessly stale and stodgy, and talk smack about the design of the website which I tend to agree with, but that's beside the point.
Restrained, for the most part, wank ensues, along with interesting discussion on the appropriation and ownership of design.

Posting this here 'cuz I dunno if religion is a fandom, but if it's not, I'd like to know why: it has many rabid fanbois and fangirls who are just as wanky o.O
It ashames me, but I have to admit it: My mother is an Orlando Bloom fangirl. As such, she asked me to find the trailer and pictures of Orli's new movie Kingdom of Heaven.
Once in IMDB.com, I felt compelled to go to the message board. Dunno, the TWS controls my life lately.
Anyways...
The movie is about the Crusades, you know, the whole Christians vs. Muslims war back in the Middle Ages.
In the board, there is a thread named "evil muslims" that has nothing to do with the movie and that is just as stoopid as it sounds.
And, among many other things, Godwin is in there already.
