11:20a - indonesian/australia relations
Might be of more interest for the Aussies, but it's fun for all.
I was going to put this in the i_wank community, because I wank (oh do I ever) but because it's not fandom related, I'll stick it here.
It's mostly a beautiful example of stupid, a very special kind of stupid.
In the Schapelle Corby community (yes, yes I know), I argue that the international community should boycott Indonesia because of their appalling internal human rights abuse. There are pros and cons to this, and much merit for both, it gets pretty passionate.
Then 'krystal' declares that Australia invaded Indonesia when it was invited into East Timor under a UN Peacekeeping force. There is disagreement.

Hey, back up there. We NEVER invaded East Timor. Australian troops - along with soldiers from New Zealand, Thailand, Bangladesh, Portugal and a bunch of other countries - went in as UN-sanctioned peacekeepers to protect the Timorese people and remove the militia groups (Indonesia does not admit that these groups were Indonesian soldiers, although it is likely). Those milita groups were slaughtering and kidnapping Timorese people by the thousands, we've been thanked by the Timorese for contributing troops.
In small words... We did not invade Timor. We do not militarily occupy Timor. The Australian soldiers that are there are essentially on loan to the UN.

People I have spoken to in the Shapelle Corby community are like little close minded children not liking the kid in school cos he dresses differently or eats different foods....is it our job to go itno Israel and fucken get the land back that they stole from the Palestinians? No.Was it our job to tell Sth Africa that apartheid was wrong? NO. It is their fucken THEIR countries...and nothing a snivelling little immature mroon says about it is going to change that fact.
I have had enough of communities, they are close minded and I havnt found one yet that doesnt have a practically retarded opinionated freak that thinks they are gods gift and know everything.
AND I AM SICK TO FUCKEN DEATH OF BEING CALLED STUPID AND DUMB BECAUSE I DONT FUCKEN AGREE WITH WHAT A SILLY LITTLE TWAT SAYS.

dot_cattiness was visited yesterday by an unimaginative little troll, who has since bahleeted the entire thread.

The thread was originally far longer (with liberal doses of "nite nite" from the troll,) but ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif) tay_en_pointe had bahleeted many of the comments before I saved the page.
bovil starts a new thread commenting on the fact that tay_en_pointe admitted to being a troll in her journal (alas, the linked post has been f-locked.) tay_en_pointe, of course, shows up to prove her masochistic tendencies.
Meanwhile, mathilde posts a cat for the "poor little troll:" You're deleting the wrong comments, sweetie - you've left all the moronic ones! The troll shows up to take a beating...again.
The fun continues in thelatest post, but the troll hasn't shown up there yet.
Nobody seems to have discovered the fact that tay_en_pointe has made one previous post to the community, which was not well-received and has since been bahleeted (something along the lines of, "It's cute that you think you can impress me with your [something] and the multitude of colors in your hair, but I have more of both." The first comment was, "If that's all it takes to make you feel superior, more power to you.") Bitter much?
