7:53a - Fun with Live Journal Status Posts!
You know whenever one of these are posted there are junior displays of wankery within. As usual, news has smidges of wank here and there.
This time it begins on the first page in response to this bit in the initial post here: As some of you have noticed, we mentioned in our last status post that we would make people agree to the new Terms of Service in the near future. However, after talking with our lawyers about it, we decided that we don't actually need everyone to agree to the Terms of Service all over again -- continued use of LiveJournal constitutes an on-going agreement.
In a fairly valid complaint by jbsegal:
You know... I don't like this very much. The implication is that you could go and change the ToS anytime you wanted without actually notifying us, leaving it as out responsibility to notice when they happen to change, so that if you decided to become evil, claim ownership of our homes, children and writings and if we didn't happen to notice this and say "No thanks", you'd take it as implied consent.
That's probably legal. It's not very ethical. Please consider changing this policy... at the very least a number of big loud posts in places people CAN NOT miss saying "The ToS is changing on such-and-so date. If you use the service within a week or 5 after that time, you are accepting it."
(Also, I've been waiting for YEARS for ESD, which people keep promising every time I bring it up. Is there any news on this front? Really... Please?)
It's not that wanky until kinnerc chimes in after a few posts with:
In this day and age no screwing with our rights is minor. That's how 1930s Germany got started...and how the United States is going.
Yup kids, plans for Journalitz death camp are in the works. Stay tuned! ( And the wank goes on )

A brief but bitter gripe about whether apologising for lewd behaviour in a Pride Parade is really necessary: here.
I suck at wank reporting. Can someone give me lessons?
