12:04a - Scared of Pit Bulls? You’d Better Be!
Over in thedogcommunity trouble's a brewin'. ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif) alidocious posts an article slamming pitbulls as evil babykillers. Responses are mixed.
Some agreeing...
I used to have a positive opinion on pit bulls, but now I just think they should not be legal.
Some disagreeing...
If you outlawed pitbulls, these insecure, violent scumbags who don't know the first thing about owning a dog would move on to some new breed, which would soon acquire the same poor reputation.
...and some taking the concept of breedism </i>way</i> too far.
Pitbulls 'kill' because it's in their nature..
just like Muslim Arabs, right?
Oh, and all Black people steal & do drugs, ooh! And everyone who lives in the south is trailer trash.
And I'm automatically a nazi because I'm german. :)

Over at little_details, dartmouthtongue makes a post recommending a movie as a source of good material on how to write a realistic rape scene. The post includes a link to the IMDB page for the movie, and that's it.

8:58p - Anthropology Wank!
My very first wank report!
Over in the anthropologist community on LJ, Yarinaosu posts about hir thoughts on yaoi the Out of Africa theory. S/h/it deleted the original post and reposted because "no one had respect for credible discussion." In the repost, s/h/it give detailed instructions on how readers are to respond, with threats of comment screening if these guidelines are not observed. S/h/it goes on to defend hir brilliant argument about the theory itself thus:
First of all, if you want to respond, respond to what I posted. This is proper evidence. Everything I say is either common knowledge or backed up through logical reasoning from common knowledge. "Research" is meaningless, as its just a word used by people to not actually target the issue, but instead avoid it. Since it is all theory, research can only lead one towards a thought, but cannot prove it. Furthermore, "digs" and "finds" in different places do not prove a thing, however, the lack of said finds or the lack of certain patterns can suggest that such a thing cannot happen.
The argument itself is a bit on the tl;dr side, but it is worth the read and contains much logic of the non-earthly persuasion. The wanking sets in immediately in the comments, and there is a bonus stern followup post by one of the mods.
ETA: Thanks to several folks for pointing out that the wank has continued in mock_the_stupid! Also, Yarinaosu himself now seems to be with us in mouse form, trolling the threads here in otf_wank.

10:24p - Won't someone think of the baybeeeezzzz?!
Over on LJ in booju_mooju, the community of sanity and logic (ok, I made that bit up), dorkus_malorkus makes a post criticising the alleged hypocrisy of 'liberal' parents.
Included in this list of contradictions is the fact that liberal parents allow their children to drink... GASP!... alcohol! Cue liberal (teehee) amounts of wank.
jessy10192 admits that she has killed let her kids have sips of alcohol. And we're off!
ramonesbrat is horrified and posts a thinly veiled threat to call the CPS on the previous poster.
peachtheif butts in to call her on this threat and point out that European kids are fairly regularly exposed to the ebil alcohol!1!
littleduchess shows up to impart her pearls of wisdom... oh, and the fact that she actually grew up in France and has experienced the culture first hand.
merlyn4401 thinks she is wrong. And has googled links to prove it!1!!11
peachthief tries to bring her logic to the yard. But damn, right, it's not better than theirs.
So peachthief asks for some evidence.
prime_radiant: FUCKING EVIDENCE? YOU DON'T NEED EVIDENCE. PEOPLE SHOULD JUST KNNNNNOOOOOWWWW THAT ONE TINY SIP OF ALCOHOL KILLS KIDS DEAD!!11!! IT'S COMMON SENSEEEEEE!11!!
And we also have bunny_lover proving that to win an argument all you have to do is type like an idiot and insult the other person a lot. Only, you know, you don't win at all and just end up looking like a loser...
Finally, prime_radiant states that anyone who thinks people in Europe give their kids alcohol, including those actually from Europe, are WRONG!
Just for the record, I'm European and think prime_radiant is full of shit. But, meh.
