1:14a - Didn't we already have a wank like this from little_details?
Over on mock_the_stupid, yavi_no_hikari posts about something her grandfather said about a bumper sticker. (I personally think her grandfather's adorable for what he said.)
Everything seems fairly normal, until liberationparty gets a bee up her ass over the OP's proper use of the word 'rape' in a context that does not involve sexual assault:
Would it be possible for you to constrain use of the word "rape" to its proper context in the future? I know too many people on LJ for whom rape is a triggering term, evoking an all-too-visceral experience. Using it in jest when it could trigger panic attacks and worse in others seems insensitive at best. Please think about it.
Things start getting fun when blackmarketpony shows up.
It's a wee, tiny thing, but it's already getting wanky. And this is Mock The Stupid, it's "don't use this word because I might have a bad reaction to it" wank, and it's the weekend when people are high, drunk, or just plain bored. I'd wager it's just a matter of time before the little wank grows up to a big wank.
The little_details 'rape' wank, provided by ladybirdsleeps in another post I deleted, after getting distracted and accidentally posting to F_W instead of here; thanks for the heads up, sparkythehamste.

11:24a - Ann Coulter beats Jeremy Paxman and disproves Darwin. Or does she?
From wank_report
In ukpolitics, flydanman posted a link to video clip of Jeremy Paxman interviewing Ann Coulter. Jeremy Paxman is known in the UK for his abrasive and forthright style of interviewing. flydanman said "Well, finally someone has stood up to Paxman. And loathe her or love her, she really put him in his place. I watched with amusement, I hope you will too."
Except not, according to most of the replies. Most commenters feel that she came across as an idiot.
But according to flydanman, that was only because she only had four minutes to make her case, he keeps telling people who disagree that she put Paxman in his place that they really need to read her book. Not that he's read it himself.
Summary of the interview by tyrell
“Are you really this ignorant and crazy?” “Yes, yes I am.” “And you really mean this offensive rhetoric that makes you look like a freak?” “Look, I wrote it and I meant it!” “Wow. Okay then.”
Also, much debate about Creationism verses Darwinism.
