9:43a - bitch, stay off the internet and get back in the kitchen
This started a few days ago, but it's still going on strong.

Forbes.com features an article by Michael Noer entitled "Don't Marry Career Women". If the title doesn't give you enough clues, the article basically says that "If a host of studies are to be believed, marrying these women is asking for trouble. If they quit their jobs and stay home with the kids, they will be unhappy (Journal of Marriage and Family, 2003). They will be unhappy if they make more money than you do (Social Forces, 2006). You will be unhappy if they make more money than you do (Journal of Marriage and Family, 2001). You will be more likely to fall ill (American Journal of Sociology). Even your house will be
dirtier (Institute for Social Research).
"

However, the wank doesn't really kick in until we get to the readers' responses. Someone's parody of the article turns into an attack on feminism. Men declare freedom from misandry and unplug themselves from the Feminatrix. None of this matters anyway, because "it is the men who have given you all the freedom or power or whatever it is that you think you have. And it is the men who can take it back from you if they want to." American men, let's stop putting up with American women. And threads upon threads that make me lose my faith in humanity just a little bit more, but slightly glad that this article has probably put the spotlight on people that no one, regardless of career aspirations, would want to marry anyway.

Me, I'm just glad that I'm all but restricted to dating doctors.
