Over at [info]bad_service, [info]iheartretards makes a post complaining that a Macy's sales rep wasn't helpful. [info]dewprisms weighs in:

If you're over 18, why are you looking in the Junior's section anyway?

Juniors is for tweens through highschool. It's just women (yes, women) wear it into their 20's because they have no sense of what is appropriate for their age.

[info]iheartretards: and see also furry: everything you say is irrelevent.

[info]slysoprano: Yeah, and anthropomorphizing and sexualizing poor, defenseless animals is a very adult thing to do.

[info]iheartretards: And if you're over the age of 7 why are you sleeping on pocahontas sheets?

Small, but entertaining. Also, no furbashing, please.

6:56p - Feminist wank.
Bloggers pose for a picture with Bill Clinton. Comments get going here, starting with "Let's just array these bloggers... randomly." The bait is picked up by Goesh, who says, "Who is the Intern directly in front of him with the black hair?"

As it turns out, the "intern" (har de har har) is Jessica from Feministing, and she is none too happy.

She says:

You know, I was psyched to be invited to this lunch and was feeling pretty honored. But then things like this remind me that no matter what I do or accomplish, because I'm a young woman all I'm good for is fodder for tacky intern jokes and comments that I don't "represent feminist values" because of the way I posed in a picture.

Meanwhile, Ann Althouse, who threw out the "'random' arrangement" idea, has this to add (I really don't know which post was made first, hers or Jessica's):

Sooooo... apparently, Jessica writes one of those blogs that are all about using breasts for extra attention. Then, when she goes to meet Clinton, she wears a tight knit top that draws attention to her breasts and stands right in front of him and positions herself to make her breasts as obvious as possible?

The wank is on in the comments (incidently, if you only want to click one link, pick this one, because it seems to explain the whole thing pretty well).

I may be missing some stuff here, because I have no history with nor knowledge of either of them. If I should add something, let me know.

9:56p - The Return of Feminist
Things have been quiet at [info]feminist lately, so naturally it's time for another display of petty bickering tinged with an ideological superiority complex. This is actually relatively small, but, to my mind, displays a shocking enough amount of cluelessness to be worth posting.

[info]lifeisacabaret posts a link to an article about Colombian women who are going on a sex strike until their boyfriends agree to give up gang activity.

We can only hope that those women weren't acting under the illusions that their actions were feminist, because [info]stratyllis is happy to jump right in and explain to them that they aren't.

Watch as she hammers that point home against all detractors, explains that race and national origin have nothing to do with it, and engages (or is engaged, depending on your point of view) in a pointless argument about what race she may or may not be.

On the side, [info]angelvomit thinks that they just shouldn't date gang members. Okay! Problem solved!
