I am thinking of making a community that would literally be the fandom_discuss to our fandom_wank - a otf_discuss, to be more precise. I'm so, so freaking tired of the wank that comes out of the comments, but at the same time, I love the crazy in the original reports, and every now and then, someone will make a funny that makes all the tl;dr comments worth it.
Right now the comm is only half-formed in my mind - members will decide collectively on the FAQ, rules, mods, bannings, hell, even the layouts, plus other stuff I currently cannot think of.
Poll #198
Open to: All, results viewable to: AllIs this a horrible idea?
ETA: I think a better poll would have been "Would you participate?" and "Would you rather leave things the way they are?" but unfortunately there's not a poll-editting or -adding option once polls have been made. :\
ETA 2: Well, giving this longer thought than, "OMGZ WOULDN'T THIS BE A NEAT IDEA LETZ GO TELL THE INTERNET!!!" I must admit that the idea isn't the brightest idea in the world. One: I don't care about your issues now, why would I want to head a comm about it? And two: people seem to like the discussion. Anyway, what I'm saying here is: I won't be making this comm, and I think the post gives a decent idea as to how others would feel about it if I had. So I am Enlightened! ::beams::

8:52p - CuteOverload wanks again
I knew before I even clicked on the Comments link there would be wank over this picture.
Aaaand the debate rages on between the "ZOMG GROSS E-COLI GERMS!!!" and "We live in an over-sterilized world and this sort of thing will improve his immune system" factions.

9:14p - You don't know the history of law school admissions! I know law school admissions!
This is small, but it so perfectly typifies the obnoxious that is many law students and potential law students that I had to post it.
burntnibbles asks law_students whether his debate experience will help him get into a top law school. The community, en masse, tells him that they will not. Cue threadlong freakout, and an eminently assholish and condescending post edit:
( Why aren't you giving me the answers I WANT, damnit? )
