9:43a - Spotlighted Wank
Has anyone else noticed how quickly the "LJ Spotlighted Communities" become hotbeds of wank?
Let's see... Over in ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif) autumn_and_fall, asweettragedy decides to post up a pretty picture of some pumpkins, along with some glurge about how God made us all like jack-o-lanterns or something. I'm not entirely certain I understand it, but shatterstripes sums it up as :
So being a Christian is like being an empty shell with a forced grin and no potential to grow anything new, who's left out to rot over the weeks after it's useful, and then thrown in the compost (if you're lucky; the trash is more likely) with cries of 'eeew'?

This, of course, leads to screaming of how "uncool" the OP is because she's deleting comments.

Meanwhile, over on the other side of OMG serious business... We've got historyisfun, this week's featured wankmagnet community, where pirated_pie wants to know if we think our interest in history is because of our past lives. (Can I claim to have been Joan of Arc in a former life?)
feste_sylvan thinks this is dumb. This annoys pirated_pie to the point where s/h/it loses the ability to use the "s" key and informes feste_sylvan he's an "a**hole".
Which, as all things do, leads to Communism Wank.

7:44p - They're stupid, they had it coming
Over on the Absolute Write Forums there's a thread warning people to think twice about buying from magazine sellers here:

There's apparently many of these that aren't reputable. A reasonable, calm discussion about experiences with sellers and relating of news stories about sellers follows. The calm enviroment is not to last, however, and winds change as jfreedan blows in on page two with this:

Is this some kind of joke, like the Halloween candy scare from the 80s?
People are kidnapping LEGAL ADULTS, rooming them in hotels, and sending them out to sell magazine subscriptions? :p
Door-to-door salesman scams are nothing new, but I have feeling this is some kind of hoax.
It is kind of hard to kidnap people when you let them run around town you know. They certaintly aren't trying very hard.
You can just tell it'll go downhill after that, can't you?

There is posted a picture of a Pomerian and a chick in less than the best of positions.
People predict wank, and the wank appears.

I own a pomeranian and he has the softest mouth of any dog I've ever owned. The chick is fine. If you don't know what a soft mouth is read the Big Red series.

Heavan forbid someone disagrees with the site (A Thinker, Teugh Cats, Redzilla, Simple minded Pollyanna etc...etc...), you all swarm like locusts to squash the evil one with the independent thought.
WHO cares if it is a soft mouth breed? WHO cares if YOUR pom never crushed a chick in it's mouth.
It's a disgusting pic. that one would never expect to see on a site titled "CUTE OVERLOAD".
