10:22a - Minor musicwank on YouTube: Nouvelle Vague and Godard
(Wasn't sure if this belonged in FW or OTFW; posted it here to be on the safe side.)
Someone posts a video on YouTube that pairs Nouvelle Vague's cover of "Dance With Me" with the dance sequence from Jean-Luc Godard's movie Bande à part (from which the latest NV album takes its title). (As far as I can tell, it's a fan mashup.)
The comments start out blandly enough, but it's not long before people start getting into it.

Fappery aside, I now want a plaid skirt and hat like the one worn by the actress in the film. Except since I'm not French, I'd never look anywhere near as good as she does.

This is so stupid it is not even funny. If people have that kind of money to put out on a cat then try helping poor people or donating to a charity. hell, send me the money i am sure i can find something better to do with it
And the second:
? What if someone wanted a cat their entire life, yet couldn't, I'm sure you've spent as much money for an unnecessary luxury...how much is your car? $10,000+? When theirs cars for much cheaper....do you live in a $100,000+ home?...do you have kids who you pamper?
There's some attempt at sanity...
But lets get real on the price here. Bit pricy.
How is this any different than unusual breeds of dogs and cats that can also cost into the thousands? Except that this will actually make it possible for people that couldn't normally have a pet, to get one.
We all have our guilty pleasures, and hey if that's what it takes to have a pet, then it's up to that person as an individual to buy one.

use the money to help poor people!!?? what a load of crap!! my husband and i have worked very hard for our money and made GOOD decisions. i will spend MY money the way i care to..and if that means a $5000 cat, then that is what i get........we make alot of money and are taxed alot of money to help the poor losers that dont care to get off their butts and help themselves!!
No reaction to the over-reactive Libertarian, but a lot of "my poor [mother/kid/sister/crippled neighbor] always wanted a [cat/dog/yaoi] and could never [afford/stop sneezing/translate]. At last, [he/she/it/they] are free from the bounds that have been imposed upon [him/her/them]."
Small, but cute and fuzzy and hypoallergenic.

 lurkerbunny makes a really childish and stupid post in  cf_hardcore.  no_father shows up and proceeds to deliver a much needed verbal spanking. Small but tasty. I don't even like no_father and yet I am forced to applaud his performance
