2:52a - How Sexy do YOU find Ayn Rynd?
A few months ago, self described "atheist libertarian feminist geek girl" Jacqueline Mackie Paisley Passey posts an interesting entry in her 'Bildungsroman' detailing how tired she is of being constantly hit upon by the male readers of her blog... especially when they don't live up to her high standards, which the liberatrian in Passey justifies with some rather... questionable statistics detailing her weight, beauty (based on HotorNot.com), education and masculine interests. Seriously, I have no idea how anyone could read about her totally-not-artificially-inflated-at-all stats without being overcome with hilarity pity awe-struck amazement at her sheer cheek lust? Certainly not her commenters-- some of whom actually laugh more with than at her!
In addition to beefing up her own ego, Passey tells men who can't live up to her high standards to either (and I quote) "lower [their] standards" and start dating "fat single mothers," "look in the developing world" for women desperate for green-cards, or "improve" themselves as much as she has over the years. Understandably, quite a few other feminists on the web weren't happy with her "feminist" suggestions.
Meanwhile another blog dedicates an entry on how Passey might not be quite as attractive as she portrays herself as being in her carefully photoshopped blog pictures.
However, in the end, Passey claims she comes off all the better for for having garnered a crazy amount of hits for the post in question. After all, as long as she's known, who *cares* how many people think she's a self-entitled twit that couldn't find her own arse with an atlas?
A twee bit old but still screamingly hilarious! Libertarianism + an overinflated sense of self-esteem will NEVER stop being funny, y'all.

12:48p - Fanfic Rants Strikes Again! Or...does it?
Yesterday on fanficrants, football_girl posted a tl;dr rant about...people who rant.
The essence of her issue is that people dare to complain about authors who don't write their characters in character. According to her, because this is fandom, anyone should be able to write any character in whatever style they prefer, and no one should complain about it:
Because, you see, the whole point of fan-fic is for people who want to see the different sides of the characters the writers have written to be able to do so. For those of us who think Draco should end up with Harry to be able to read/write about it. For those of us who think Draco would be a gentle lover to write/read about it. ETC ETC ETC
So why are people yelling all around in this community things like: "Draco is supposed to be crule and vile and stubborn, stop portraying him as actually good deep inside!! What must I do to make people understand Draco is vile and cruel? Can't you people read? Haven't you read the books?"
If we were satisfied with "the books", fan-fic would not exist. Because someone wants to portray a character differently than you, YOUR MAJESTIES, would like to see him/her, it doesn't mean their work is crappy or wrong. If you don't like nice!Draco, don't read it! If someone wants to dress Snape in a tutu and you don't like it? DON'T READ IT, stop bitching on here that: "HOW DARE THEY, BIATCHES, NOT SHARE MY OPINION ON WHAT THING SHOULD BE!!!"
This is obvious wank fodder, but the replies are surprisingly civil. Some people agree outright, others agree to a point, and others disagree strongly, but are resonably polite. In fact, there are only a few outright wanky responses, and are mostly limited to silly things like this, and only a few are outright rude in response, but are actually articulate and make some excellent points.
In short, there were over 200 replies and there was practically no real wank to speak of at all. That's frankly amazing and probably makes this one of the least-wanky wanky posts ever posted in fanficrants.
So why is this even being posted in a wank community?
Because the very next day she posted this:
Hey!
This may be eventually deleted, and that's fine, because I'm not staying and may be breaking a couple of rules of this community, for which I apologise.
You all know my post. The ever-famous bitching post that got about, oh, I don't know, about 200 replies by now? There was a reason I posted it, and you'll all find out soon enough why if you keep your eyes open on LJ. You did exactly what I expected you to do. Flame me, bitch at me, tell me I was a dumb-ass. All for doing what you've been doing all along - posting insults about people. Only this time, I posted an insult about YOU, and that sucked, didn't it?
I never approved of communities like this, but I had to stick it out. I had some fun, I had some support, but mostly just over 100 people telling me I was a bitch and I had no right to insult and generalise. Which is more ironic than your defensive mechanism against my attacks at you will ever allow you to see.
So, my job is done. Thank you for contributing. I enjoyed it. Keep your eyes open. I'm sure you're just going to love it. xD
Also, I apologise if this actually long-term hurt someone.
Me.
P.S. And really, if you still have a personal grudge against me, go to therapy, not to my LJ to finish your rants.
...OH NO! fanficrants has just been INSULTED! I'm sure everyone's suitably horrified that this er, "ever-famous" post has exposed the awful, awful hypocrisy inherent in this community! I'd say she was new to the internet, but I know she's not.
She has yet to post anything in her journal, but I truly look forward to further self-righteous idiocy from this chick.

5:27p - "Naturally, I was surprised by this note. Lee is clearly more unlikeable than I am."
I have to say that I love Lee Goldberg, if only for introducing me to Tod Goldberg.
From a mouse on wank_report: Tod Goldberg vs. a Troll and his Internet Lawyers.
