8:28a - OJ Simpson & Amazon
You know, I think we were right: Amazon allowing discussion threads about books really is the beginning of the end of the world.... or the wankiest thing since Anne Rice. You decide.
I think everyone's heard by now that OJ will be on Fox with his "How I Did It" - how he would have killed nichol Simpson and her friend, had he actually done it. As cleolinda put it, if media executives think you're low, then you've really hit rock bottom.
Of course there's a book. And you can pre-order it right now from Amazon!
You and W Young, who thinks everyone who doesn't want to buy the book and may boycott Amazon for selling it are "idiots".
I am buying this book because i want too. Guess What? I dont give a flying ____ how u feel about it. It's my god given right and OJ has been found not guilty so get over it already. I personally feel when u have been found innocent u are innocent ok.Matt
He takes umbridge when people disagree, and starts telling everyone to be good Christians and that no one cared when the Rodney King trial went "not guilty" until after the riots started.
( Read more... ) But, according to Amazon stats: 0 of 6 people think this post adds to the discussion. Do you?
ETA: There's lots more in the discussions if you want to go looking. Fish and barrels come to mind. Lots of spelling & grammar comments. I'm just in too much pain from the head hitting the desk to do anything with it.

6:56p - Pomo Wankery (but I repeat myself)
Great Poets is a sweet little LJ community. People post a poem they enjoy and generally, get a couple comments chiming in. This post got about thirty times the normal amount of comments. It seems some poetry lovers are less than thrilled by a sonnet that reads simply, "Nothing in that drawer" for fourteen lines.
Eat shit and die! says one, kicking off a glorious festival of furry-bashing, ageism, and of course, embedded images.
ETA: Looks like several more repetitive poems have been posted here and here, with oddly positive feedback.

8:59p - You will all go to bed without beatings!
In dot_bdsm_snark, ADevotedSlave posts what starts out as a promising snark of people who get too happy with Photoshop when posting photos online. However, they apparently (bum bum BUMMM) snarking for revenge! (oooooo)
ThomasKattus reveals that it is him in the pictures and claims that it's not fair! to choose just those pictures. He says at least he doesn't have cock shots up (point for him).
Apparently, ADevotedSlave took issue with ThomasKattus' previous post and decided to track him down and make fun of him. DevotedSlave's supporters include:
I speak in third person because my master tells me to (from bella_di_vil)
and
You're all meanies (from kaya_s)
Highlights include:
"I'd like you to open http://www.m-w.com for just a minute. Now.In the field beside "Dictionary" please type the word "hyperbole" for me. Press enter. Okay, you got what that word means? Now hit the back button. Delete "hyperbole" from the field and replace it with the word "sarcasm". Press enter. Got that too? Okay, back button again. This time we're looking up "stereotypes". Last time, I swear. Look up "satire". You are now fully ready to comment in here and not look like a complete dork. You're welcome."
from Kwanboa, here

Well, first off, let me make it clear (because I can see how it woul be confused) that I am saying it is a conceit, as in a fanciful notion, not conceited, as in snobbish or self-important. One uses the word conceit to refer to excessively flowery language choices, that is what I am doing here.
That said, I think the refering to yourself in the third person bit is silly, I've always thought it was silly. The fact that your master ordered you to do it just means that I think you and your master are engaging in a silly practice. This is why we have snark communities, so we can make fun of the things people do which we think are silly.
