Over on ![[info]](http://www.journalfen.net/img/userinfo.gif) polyamory, comm member dbvanhorn posts a Heinlein quotation about jealousy, under the title "Thought for the day." The quotation reads, "Jealousy is a disease, love is a healthy condition. The immature mind often confuses one for the other, or assumes the greater the love, the greater the jealousy. In fact they are almost incompatible; both at once produce unbearable turmoil." Surely this comment couldn't cause drama in a community of people who choose to have multiple lovers and work to minimize the effect of jealousy on their lives ...

Yeah. It could. People react negatively to the quotation. dbvanhorn then edits the post to remove the quotation and say (if I recall correctly) something about how he "didn't expect the quotation to bring so much hostility." Latecomers, like me, are left saying WTF? The mod, 00goddess, weighs in on the "passive-aggressiveness" of the edit. dbvanhorn then puts the quotation back in the original post, along with a little more tiny-violin self-serenading. And, naturally, everyone wanks about jealousy. (I assure you, my comments are entirely unwanky. *nodnod*)

CuteOverload is known for being one of the wankiest places on the internet. Something about adorable animals just drags out the wankers in full force.
A picture is posted of a cat and baby together. Someone apparently childfree feels the need to comment, Ugh! Cute ruined by a sproglet! Ahhhhh!
Naturally, all Hell breaks loose. Forward fly accusations that the baby is ugly, CFers are heartless, and that everyone, on both sides, is being oppressed.
Of course, it's possible to argue that the comments wouldn't have escalated if if it hadn't also been posted to cf_hardcore.
Where's the "IT IS A DAILY STRUGGLE BEING CHILDFREE" icon when you need it?

xmorganalafeyv posts in customers_suck complaining about loud kids at work and using pretty much every nasty CF slang she can think of. Naturally, people are less than impressed.

Members of cf_hardcore rally behind the OP, the usual calls of 'STFU this is a RANT community' are heard, and xmorganalafeyv replies to many comments and really doesn't improve people's view of her.
Fellow CFer milk_and_glass lays a smackdown on the OP:
FFS, stop using childfree terms outside of the fucking community! You make us all look stupid, heartless and batshit insane. Why couldn't you have worded this rant without using shit like "failed abortion" and "cuntrag"? That's why you have so many people offended right now. Are you really that fucking retarded? This is on stupid_free, you look like an ass, and once again, people think that everyone who's childfree is just like you.
