"I wish I could have aborted your post."
My first time, and I bring around the tried-but-true abortion wank. But not aborted wank...

Vera Drake boards on IMDB brought on the wank spectacularly as the pro-lifers stir the wank pot. Thus, a five-month wank is conceived.

MoonsOfJupiter starts a thread entitled "Pro-life women are the real feminists." S/he cites a "recent study" which claims most women get abortions because of pressure from their menfolk.

This has the desired effect. Sage-brush1 starts it off with the one-liner, "You're a moron." Mario_Van_Nimoy continues with "I wish I could have aborted your post." It's debated whether or not these count as actual arguments.

selina_kittygirl_kyle posts a long rant including the lines: "Now please do not bring up all the imagined unadoptable children, the stats will not hold up that argument. The truth is there are waiting lists for adoptions for any baby, regardless of race or birth defect. Just because it is easier for their mothers if they go away does not mean they are unwanted."

(These kids, apparently, are imaginary.)

Euthanazia is brought up, statistics are thrown around, KhronoMike's stupid is showing ("I have never once in my entire life heard of a woman getting an abortion unless under the duress of some outside force."), kiwimummy, DCJerzeyGrl, and many others throw around their abortion street cred, and lactodactyl tries to bring up the message of the movie and is ignored. This continues for the next five months.

And I sit back and boggle.

I guess that KhronoMike might have a point if you counted an unwanted pregnancy as an outside force. Relatively few* people without those get abortions.

*Although a non-zero number, when you factor in medical issues in wanted pregnancies.

Of course! We all know that adoption means that your child will be taken care of by rich kind people who will shower them with gifts. They won't spend years in the foster care system or dealing with parents who may be abusive/negligent.

[For the record I think adoption is a good idea in some cases, but it's not perfect nor is it a magic cure-all.]

No, it isn't a magical cure all. However, the same things can happen when a child lives with his or her birth parents.

[I'm not really arguing one way or another on this one, just playing Devil's Advocate].

Forgive me greatly for hijacking. This is a spectacular wank from a well known GAFFtress that includes circular arguments, incoherent ramblings and OMGRACISM!

Ahh, Tilly of GAFF. (http://www.godawful.net/forums/) I guess she's like a hobby for me.

If you follow the link she gives to her lj, you find she's Kapunua on LJ. (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kapunua/) You either love her or hate her or are indifferent to her, (which doesn't leave much actually) but she can be pretty entertaining. You have to give her points for perseverence. Where most people would throw their hands up and say I give up! Tilly just keeps on keeping on.

Her LJ is usually pretty dull, (unless you like to hear her whine about her dogs) but in her latest entry (http://www.livejournal.com/users/kapunua/116224.html) she vaguely mentions a problem with an "internet bully" on an interest group she describes as NA. Let's see, what does Tilly define as a "bully" and where is this conflict. Userinterest for Tilly lists "nativeamerican". NA. On there, she recently made a post about racism. Not exciting.

It's the post before it (http://www.livejournal.com/community/nativeamerican/459083.html) that has the wank, with 61 comments, most of them between Tilly and a guy named [info]maldito.

Maldito, a Hawaian guy, posts a ghost story on this group, about a woman who took some rocks from a sacred place in Hawaii and then the spirits killed her and her family and asks "can you believe it?!"

Tilly, in a usual lack of self control responds, "hell no, spirituality can't kill you." Maldito's reply is "you are misinformed, it can kill you and it does. Why don't you take some rocks and let us know how it goes." Tilly: "It was an idiotic thing to do and it was wrong of her but I still don't think it killed her. Oh, and stop being an ass." Oh, Tilly.

It degenerates from there, with Maldato accusing "You think it's okay to take sacred rocks! You're the same kind of person!" Tilly, "I said I thought it WASN'T right." Maldito, "You still think it's right! You think my culture is yours for the taking!" Believe me, this back and forth goes on for too many posts. This is where Tilly should learn to say "okay I'm out of this". But ahh Tilly.

Maldato says that Tilly will "get her due". (She must get that a lot. :-D ) Tilly snarks. Maldito doesn't think the snark is funny, because he takes his culture seriously. (Which we will see later).

Maldito brings up an old post about Tilly's other name, Kapunua, and that he (or someone else) objected to her using a Hawaiian name. Tilly says she remembers that post and doesn't care if he doesn't like her name. It is a Hawaian girl saying she doesn't like white people using Hawaian names. Tilly is a white person who uses a Hawaian name and it goes downhill from there, Tilly asking, "Is it okay to use a Hebrew name if you're not Hebrew?" and the Hawaian girl taking offense at being compared to a Hebrew.)

Tilly reiterates that she didn't think it was right of the dead woman to take a sacred rock. Maldito says that her comment 'it wasn't right' was ambiguous (http://www.livejournal.com/community/nativeamerican/459083.html?thread=2582603#t2582603)because "It's a compound sentence with a conjunction, the conjunction of course being "and", which would imply a combination. It is that combination that causes the conflict, or rather makes your statement abiguous, not "that's not the right thing to do" b/c if you look back again at my statement, I was saying that you say it's not necessarily right."

The reader tries to figure out what the blue fuck he's talking about.

In that post, he tells Tilly that he's going to tell another Hawaian guy, who may or may NOT be Tilly's Hula teacher (b/c Tilly is never clear on it) that there is a problem with Tilly.

Tilly tells him he's being a meanie tattletale. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/nativeamerican/459083.html?thread=2585419#t2585419) Don't try to follow the rest of the thread unless you know Hawaian words or don't care what they mean when they talk about hamana and ani and halau. But these two word are clear. "KUMU" means teacher and "HAOLE" seems to be a derogatory term for "white person" like a Hawaian equevalant of "honkie". Which Maldito bitchslaps Tilly with constantly.

Then, weirdly enough, someone calling herself "Haole girl" chimes in with stop lying about this guy being your Hula teacher.> Tilly responds, "he was once or twice, he isn't now, he might be again next week." Namecalling happens.

Maldato makes a bunch more references that Tilly just hates him because he's Hawaian. Tilly keeps telling him no, she hates him because he's rude. Maldito insists that she's disapointed because he's rude AND Hawaian and, "I'm sure if I were't Hawaiian you wouldn't be so hung up on this."

Maldito: You just expect that Hawaians owe you everything. I don't have to be nice to you just because I'm Hawaian. Also, this is why locals hate outsiders. (http://www.livejournal.com/community/nativeamerican/459083.html?thread=2597707#t2597707)

That's where it stands. Will Maldito tell Tilly's Hula teacher / Not Hula Teacher that she was mean to him? Will Tilly tell her Hula teacher / Not Hula Teacher that Maldito was mean to her?

That's it for now, but here's something fun. On Maldito's LJ (http://www.livejournal.com/users/maldito/) he says that he and his ancestors are hunting down "wannabes". He says, "I know why I am the person to find these people whether they are online or in real life. Because my ancestors are tired of it and this as a sign, telling me to do something about it."
That's right people, Maldito is the OMGCHOSENONE.

If you click on his "Warning we will hunt you down" icon you are taken to Maldito's homepage (http://66.70.135.159/wannabes/) which reveals another dimension to this. APparently Hawaians all come from two people, like Adam and Eve of Hawaii, and if you can't prove you are from these two people, you're not really Hawaian and you are RUINING Hawaii for everyone else.

Maldito really is hunting people down, though not killing them (I guess). He lists "the culprits" and then posts their pictures, email addresses, and he documents how he harrasses them until they admit that, uhh, they can't really prove they are descended from these two people. Of one girl he says, "No response from this one. She did change her page and now her website no longer mentions her ethnicity. Probably because she knew I was on to her." (Why does that strike me as being funny?) One of them is a 12 year old girl. He gets mad at one girl beacuse she didn't display her email for him to write to her. One guy isn't sure if he's part Hawaian but Maldito bets he's just another Filipino.

Why would you have been unable to carry the baby to term? Isn't it better to wait to see if he DID try to kill the baby - than to kill it yourself first?
