I sense the battle lines being drawn . . .
[info]stopityou posts a picture of a beheaded toddler (which, despite talk of photoshopping, appears to be real) with additional commentary that amounts to "omg u all suxx0rs im so hardCORE!11!11"

Then he goes to cf_hardcore to gloat. Apparently they think trolling = the truth; don't know how they got to that conclusion.

In an earlier post, the mod of cf_hardcore not only doesn't tell anyone to knock off the trolling, but seems to be enjoying it quite much.

And thus began the first skirmish of what might end up being the highly-annoying War of the Childfree.

I find it funny that a great many childfree people act like children themselves. That, the refusal of some to even be around someone who might want to have children, and the childfreer-than-thou stuff will never get them the respect they seem to think they adamantly deserve.

I've poked around other places, and have heard that what's worse is that some CF folk like to troll in blogs belonging to women undergoing infertility treatments. Which somehow seems way worse.

And they even trade URLs for such blogs and egg each other on.

And the problem with that is that perception begins to be applied to ALL childfree people because some of them are fucking nuts. There's such a spectrum that making ANY generalization ignores a wide segment of the population.

Agreed. My friend doesn't want children because they annoy her snd she'd be a horrible mother. She's not rude about it or anything, kids just aren't her thing. Most of the people on that community, though? 100% batshit insane.

Pretty much, yes. Not wanting children makes perfect sense to me. Hating and despising not only children, but anyone who wants children, and even people who don't want children but don't hate and despise anyone who does? Seek help. Hating children so much that you get off on it when they are tortured, maimed or murdered goes beyond seek help and into "you should be in an institution."

What the fuck? You're the one who commented on something that had absolutely nothing to do with you, with an icon that caused a minor spat I'd already forgotten about because it was so banal.

Feel free to display some more of your maturity, although you must be certain to use either your fake-pr0n icon in a very mature attempt to provoke a faceless internet person, or another icon with suitably acerbic invective. Try "fuck off" or "cunt", those are aces!

The pic was originally from Ogrish.com. It was of a car accident in Venezuala or Brazil where a mother and her baby got ripped up eight ways to hell.

That in mind, if you're really in a mood for punishment you can go over there and hunt around, but me... brr. No way I'm doing it, man.

It's even weirder for me--I watch MacGyver twice a day in the afternoons and then about three hours of Stargate at night (because for the last week or so I've been buying a season of Stargate pretty much every time I leave the house). If Jack O'Neill has longer blond hair, I'd never be able to figure it out. ;)
