Can we stand more customers suck wank?
Again not an exploding one, but still *rolls eyes*.

This community is just full of PC trolls. You can't mention the race of a bad customer without someone going 'why did you need to mention their race you think they're bad because they're black/hispanic/whatever you are a big racist OMGWTF!!!1. Well, this for once is not about race. It's about homophobia.
But, results are the same.

Someone posts about the homophobic person who came into their bar in a largely gay/bisexual area.

Someone gets offended by the use of the term 'homophobia'.

You're not openminded about homophobia tho. You reacted with anger and abuse, which is basically what I had a problem with.

You know, you can only be so openminded, before your brain just flops right out onto the floor.

Just sayin'.

You're not openminded because you refuse to accept closedminded people. Mmhmm.

Yes, it leads to a humourous phrase a friend used to use "The only thing I can't tolerate is intolerance" :p

I'd like to smack that person repeatedly with a spatula.

And it's perfectly okay, because, you know, you can't change me.

I loooooove this logic! Whee!

Well we all know it's impossible for an opinion to be stupid, uninformed, and hurtful! ALL opinions are valuable, even those based on outright lies and misinformation.

I've heard that argument used in my own family when discussing some of my grandparents' antiquated and erroneous attitudes.

Funny thing is, even at 85 I've seen their attitudes change about many things they once adamantly believed.

So, if my grandparents can have a change of attitude and belief at 85, then a couple of 50ish types can also get an attitude adjustment.

Panimu was just being the grand n00b. In a big huge monstrous wanky way. :P

Ah, I can thank [info]sidekick for it. I fell in love with it and decided to use it. I think, if you like, go to the icon comm and it's there for the taking. :D

The sub-thread wasn't really about changing people or being PC. It was about returning negative emotions with more negative emotions. The rest was just side lines.

Hi,

I think you're misrepresenting me, or I came across wrongly. I apologise if it was the latter. Anyway, I'm not 'exactly' offended by the use of the word homophobia as I am by it's misuse.
It's used against people who have a genuine irrational fear of homosexuals and are quite benign and against those who go around raising fear and hatrad as well as committing physical acts against people (gay bashing etc.). I just think those two groups need seperating more.
And if you're curious I belong to neither of those groups.

I'm sorry if my comments bothered you, if there's something else you had a problem with or would just like to flame me please feel free to email at homophobia@panimu.com (as I don't have an account here I wont get notifications of replies and I'm unlikely to check back often if at all).

All I was concerned about was misplaced hate and hate/fear feeding into more of same. My humble apologies for any offence caused.

Pan

PS: I'm being sincere not sarcastic, they sometimes look the same in text :)
