[info]christianity has done it again! Hey, don't most of you folks believe that wanking is a bad thing?

KoRn guitarist Brian Welch "finds Christ and quits KoRn." Responses aren't too shabby at first, just the typical pro- and psuedo-pro judgements being thrown about. And then, some liberal folksies enter the room.
(dunh-dunh-dunh-DUNH)
Small, but good - particularly for those of us who just gave up ever trying to converse with these folks.

In response to [info]etruth's comment on "put[ting] him on TV specials," [info]golodhgwath (thread)snarks:
You must be crazy. We must parade him in front of every evangelical youth group in the country. So he can tell his story about how he was into drugs, sex, and evil music, and especially lots of sex -- but then found the Lord.

Otherwise, how can you expect the young generation to get the message that they have no valid testimony until they sin grievously? My church experience wouln't have been nearly confusing enough without putting every druggy f@$%#-up on a pedestal as examples of all that is cool and right.

;-)

[info]chrissie won't stand for this!: Oh c'mon.
[info]golodhgwath: I think he got my joke.
[info]chrissie: I did too, but it wasn't funny. :P
[info]golodhgwath: It was hilarious. I've been laughing about it for years.

[info]evil_genius hazards: I'm not really sure why being in a band like Korn is so completely incompatible with being a Christian. Further more I don't understand why all of you think this man just turning his back on his first great love "music" is such a positive thing. If anything I pity him for the incredibly painful and confusing path he has chosen. (thread)
There's some bantering in response, but it seems as though [info]chrissie can't stand for much at all since she jumps in again.
[info]chrissie: I wonder why you bother to reply to discussions in communities when most of your replies are "I'm not going to talk about this anymore."
A valid point! But [info]evil_genius is valid-er: It's clear from previous discussion your view of the creator and mine vary drastically. I am personally content to maintain my own views and allow you to do the same.
[info]chrissie: teh_GASP! [sic]

Which leads us to the gold --
[info]heyunyi: Nice of him to not force you to adopt his view, huh?
[info]chrissie: It's a right charitable of him, since from what I've seen I'd have to fight tooth and nail before I let him take Christ from me.
Honey, somehow I don't think he was planning on it.
