I didn't want your stupid statue anyway!
Mel Gibson says Award Shows are Stupid. He also says that the Oscars treated his movie as a political football and wouldn't reward it (just them, huh?). And that it's really all about marketing. (Yeah, Million Dollar Baby sure saturated the market.)

I wonder if he was thinking this when he got the award for Braveheart.

I think Mel should re-envision "Passion" as a slasher-art film entitled "The Jesus Chainsaw Massacre." THEN, if it gets an Oscar and all the people who said Passion was crap give this a standing ovation, we will admit that the failure of Passion to win Best Picture was due to a sinister anti-Christian conspiracy. Until then...no.

Hey, I just realized "National Treasure" wasn't nominated for anything! OMFGS that was like the best movie EVAH! There is obviously a conspiracy at work here...perhaps some kind of anti-treasure-hunting-action-movies-with-romantic-subplots thing. Could it be that COMMUNISTS have once again embedded themselves in Hollywood, the better to wreak havoc upon our nation by refusing to honor this masterpiece of American history? Those fiends!

No, you've got it all backwards. National Treasure wasn't nominated because the Masons would prefer to remain an anonymous secret society pulling the strings of our country's leaders. If they were an ACADEMY AWARD WINNING Secret Society, that might actually lend legitimacy to their existence, which is totally bad because they ARE the men behind the curtain and NO ONE MUST EVER KNOW!

Yes, because Passion of the Christ *wasn't* the most over hyped movie evar! And after watching the Political Football Fahrenheit 9/11 I had no desire to see how the other half lives, that was quite enough boring, thank you.

Okay, I'll give you Eposide 1, but I don't remember a lot of hype for Matrix Reloaded. And I think that crediting Passion with religious epithany makes it beat Episode 1.

Oh Mel, Mel... I usually *love* controversial films that are getting bashed by critics for being desturbing, not politically correct, hard to be understood, etc.

And so, I thought that I would at least like your [i]Passion[/i]. But what did I get? Aside from a few scenes (from which only two were well-made), the mindless physical torture of a guy. Aka, POINTLESS.

It's a tad different, yes, I give you that. But in a bad and plainly *stupid* way.

Grow up.
