Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Your regularly scheduled customers_suck wank
We were overdue for c_s wank, weren't we?

ttam_ posts a list of shit he's sick of seeing in sucky customer posts...

People, I don't mean any offense, but I gotta say it. I'm going to freaking lose my shit if I have to see one more entry in this group that includes:

--"Hi I'm new here! I have lots of sucky stories, but I'll tell em later!" (Don't Bother! do you think we care about your introduction? No!)
--"Tales of a [insert random job]" (It's been done before, kids. Find a new tagline PLEASE!)
--So many gramatical/spelling errors its no wonder you fucking work the night shift at McDonald's (spell-check is there for a reason, son!)
--"ICONLOVE!" (No one cares or wants to read your 5-comment digression on how much their icon rocks/doesn't rock, you know?)
--"^_^" or "o_O" (Can't we find more unique/verbose/original ways to express ourselves?!)
--"So this Black/Asian/Woman/Latino comes in..." (It's 2005, sexism and racism are over-rated!)
--"Me: your hero at the register/manager on duty/etc!" (DUH, we know what the fuck "me" means, you know?!)
--"If it doesnt scan, do I get it for free?!" (everyone and their mother has posted that on here. It's OLD and HACKNEYED as fuck!)

And, while I'm at it, enough of the stories about:

--dirty bathrooms
--customers who come in right before closing
--your cool manager who's got your back
--a dirty old man asking you out when you're 15

I mean, for real people. Are we not smart and capable enough to come up with some new material? I love this group as much as the next guy, but damn! I wanna bang my head against a wall every time I read it! Its repetitive, ignorant and boring. Let's see some change, kids!

Thanks!! :D :D :D

Ohhh boy.

A number of commenters agree with the list.

tornbetween points out the irony of ttam_ bitching about emoticons and then closing his post with them.

rimrunner is quite civil for a while, and ends by slapping ttam_ with his/her grammar cock, and a few comments later smokeandreason gets in a smack of his/her own by pointing out the bad Russian in ttam_'s userinfo. On the other side of the grammar coin, chii_chan9148 defends the poor maligned smiley and agrees robustly to the grammar thing, never mind the fact that she keeps using the word "peoples" where she should be using "people".

Then you've got emerldsword and his/her U MEENIE THINK OF TEH N00BZ pimpslap.

A troll all dressed up for St. Paddy's makes an appearance.

Get it before it's bahleeted!

Well, I don't know if I'd call my sucky customer stories "material", in that I didn't make them up. When my customers start doing new an creative things like pouring hot nacho cheese on the floor and sliding around on it, or hijacking the PA system and yelling bad words over the speakers, then I'll tell about it, but mostly I just get jerks who do normal everyday crappy things like coming in five minutes before closing time.

"So this Black/Asian/Woman/Latino comes in..." (It's 2005, sexism and racism are over-rated!)

That's about the only one I agree with. The one about the "dirty Mexicans" deserved the reaming it got.

Don't like it... don't read it.

Is there a DLDR law to invoke?

I want to see someone do this now. And then get his/her ass handed to her by the pissed off cashier jockey.

And while I very much agree about the whole racism thing, I don't see how saying "This woman came in" is sexist--it's just a general descriptor. Unless they're ending their posts by saying, "Dumb bitch should get back to the kitchen where she belongs." Which, from what I know about that community, isn't that farfetched, so never mind. :) [emoticon of unoriginality!]

No, I was just referring to how people often feel the need to attach an ethnicity to a person where it isn't necessary. The fact that somebody's Mexican doesn't really seem to be relevant to the fact that they made a mess or were rude to you. Saying "a woman" is perfectly innocent, though.

Once somebody actually did steal my walkie-talkie so she could speak to the manager herself. She didn't yell bad words, but I had to actually explain to her that she couldn't use the employees' radios because it disrupted storewide communication.

I totally agree. The "woman" != sexist comment was really aimed more at ttam_, which I didn't make clear--sorry!

As for the walkie-talkie stealer, I hope someone comes up to her some day and pulls her cell phone out of her purse and starts using it. That shit's just RUDE. I've had people use my phone without asking before, which is obnoxious because if I'm sitting at my desk, they have to actually reach OVER me to pick it up. Assholes.

Word. I mean, yeah, if the story has something to do with the poster being accused of racism just because they can't do what the customer wants, then sure, mention the ethnicity. But not if it had nothing to do with the suckiness.

Apparently that phone is always off the hook for rhodamine because the point didn't just fly overhead, it took a shit on her head as it passed on by.

Perhaps the content would be better if the mod didn't ban so many people for having all of Yellowstone shoved up her arse.

Oh, wait - am I bringing in bias? Pity.

Welp, the reason they keep posting them over and over is because life is totally and utterly predictable in the long run. OF COURSE parts of your specific professions are going to suck balls. Of COURSE there's Murphy's Law.

So chill, dude!
