Wow, Metaquotes is sure bringing the wank lately.

It all starts when gunneryunagirl has her angry rant against males metaquoted. Some highlights:

It is also unattractive when you gawk at me because I like slash. Okay, get over it. If you can like girl-on-girl, I can like guy-on-guy. On the same note, gender roles should be a thing of the past. Just because I'm female does NOT mean I was fucking born to do your dishes, act like a damsel in distress, and be your general eye candy.

...

Hey. My face is up here, thank you. Unless my tits suddenly sprout eyeballs, a mouth and a nose, I forbid you to use it as your default eyelevel. While I dislike people staring at me straight in the eyes while talking (because it's creepy, thank you), I'd just appreciate it if you could meet my eyes. It means alot to know you're listening to what I have to say, not nodding and saying "uh-huh" once in a while while you stare at my chest. Fuck you.

...

I do not consider my gender to be smarter than yours. I do not consider yours to be any smarter than mine, either. But I do think that the gender line seems to draw a distinct realization between our sexes - the media says you guys must be macho, funny, sexy bad boys, and the media says I have to be thin with a D chest and so-and-so fashionable clothes. I, apparently, also have to be your personal thing to play with, and I do not agree with any of that. You know what? I don't exist to be that pretty doll for you to stare at, to smile at you, and devote all my attention to you. I am a human being, and I, shock of shocks, like to be on my own sometimes. I like having time to think, where I don't have to entertain *you*. And guess what? THAT'S OKAY. You're a human too, right? I assume you can find something to occupy yourself with! You can find something to do, right? GOOD. DO THAT. Let me have my private time alone.

First comment:

[info]deviatednorm: Man, what a twatty lady.
[info]biztheinsane: How dare she be her own woman!
[info]deviatednorm: I'm sure she could do it with a lot less bitching.

I mean, isn't that the most basic stereotype of a woman?

And of course, from there the thread degenerates into a spooge-fest on sexism. Of course.

[info]acetal jumps in about his annoyance with women who bitch about men.

I think that a fair proportion of these responses are because, pardon my language, guys are getting fucking sick of this sort of thing.

Okay, have a moan. Fair enough. But it seems that it's become chic to put men down. To generalise, whenever a female wants approval from other females, they bash guys. "Oh, all men are scum." "They're so pathetic, aren't they?" "I'll never stop finding it funny when they get hit in the balls."

To use a recent [Unknown LJ tag]example, there was a quote in which a man related that a doctor `took a relatively large q-tip and without warning stuck it in my peehole.' Predictably, we got 96 comments from women saying that that was nothing. Because your pain makes everyone else's less in comparison OMG. To quote, `cry me a river'. Nothing excuses being a bitch: not PMS, not having a bad day or a bad boyfriend. Vent all you like - you have that right, just like everyone else. But there's venting and then there's misandry

It's bad enough that guys are being raised in a generation that tells them they're automatically bad and fools without constantly being told that none of their experiences are valid because they're not women.

Guess what? There are nice guys out there. Some of them aren't taken or gay. They just don't want to have anything to do with you because your attitude towards men puts them off. Yes, I generally consider myself one of those nice guys. Nice doesn't equal doormat. By the same token, nice doesn't mean `treats everyone except you like crap.'

Remember, people are...people. Regardless of gender.

[info]elettaria: OMG mysogyny!
[info]acetal: Dude, WTF?

Massive wanking about feminism ensues, as if you had any doubt.

Man, Metaquotes... three OTF_wank entries in a row. Must be some sort of record.

Goddamn, metaquotes!

Anyway, any man who feels the need to declare himself a "nice guy" probably isn't. Ginmar's rant on soi-disant "nice guys" was spot-on.

word. Doubly when he feels the need to wax eloquent about how meeeeeeeeeeeeeen women are in the same breath.

(and the dogpile on ginmar was pretty incredible, I thought at the time. Dude, even a batshit insane stopped clock is right twice a day.)

What does this 'soi-disant' mean? I remember it from the milk wank and figured they were making up words.

"Self-appointed." The phrase doesn't translate exactly, but it's something close to "I myself say."

Wait, wait... I've got it:

Men are pigs.
Women are bitches.
"Other" are freaks.

Did I get everyone? Good.

Now that everyone's been insulted, can the human race settle down and just be people now? No? Damn, that's what I thought...

I do believe that I love you. Whenever I read these 'all women/men do is insult men/women!' or any such rants, there are very few times when the same things don't apply to the other gender just the same. some women rant about men. doesn't mean that 'oh no men are oppressed!' as far as I can tell.

Total lightweight.

Best. Quote. Ever. Though I have seen natural D & 1/2 boobs that were remarkably perky. It was a rare exception, though (and actually made that season of Big Brother watchable until that fine piece of objectifiable ass was booted out of the house).

Man, Metaquotes... three OTF_wank entries in a row.

Metaquotes/Fanficrants = OTP!!!!1

Or maybe not. Maybe there's a contest going on. Who shall be named wankiest? I personally think Fanficrants has the edge and the experience there, though.

Damn, man. Guys at metaquotes, bitter much? She has some good, if somewhat generalized, points and now OMGSHEZATWAT? WTF. If YOU were bitching like that, you'd expect the Heavens to open up and shine PURE GOSPEL TRUTH on everyone. Out of their anuses even.

Boggling aside, I probably wouldn't have trivialized the Q-tip story. That's some fucking OWCH there, it is, and there should have been at least a half-second before of "Okay, I'm sticking THIS in..."

Not to get wicked anatomical, but having stuff shoved up your vagina is nowhere near as uncomfortable as having stuff shoved up your urethra. The guys win on that one. (But there's a special spot in hell reserved for gyns who don't warm the speculum first.)

There are apparently urethral suppositories for women (as well as men). They're quite rare, and I can't name a product that currently uses them. But there is a possibility that some woman, somewhere, has felt that urethral pain.

I'm just thankful it wasn't me.

Okay, ow. I'll reprhrase: anyone who's had a doctor go spelunking up their urethra wins over anyone who's had a Pap smear. People who've had both, and colonoscopies, win the invasive medical procedure Triple Crown, the poor things.

I had a catheter. (And I'm female) But I think that must hurt much less than the Q-tip does/would because I don't remember the insertion of it being that bad.

But yeah, I definitely have sympathy, I'd bet Pap smears are nothing compared to that.

I remember cathing.

Pain. PAIN LIKE ALL MOTHERFUCKING HELL.

Might've been a size thing; the RN jabbed at me for two minutes before deciding the wide-gage catheter wasn't going to go all the way in, after all.

It could indeed have been a size thing; "wide-gage" and "catheter" just don't sound like they need to be in the same sentence at all.

Also I was pretty desperate to urinate and couldn't, so I was pretty relieved and that may be the part I'm remembering.

They've got to have child/adult sizes, at least--and I'm probably closer to the kiddie width.

I'd been pissing blood. *coughs* That probably didn't ease the procedure.
