Oh, lord, izzerwurst. She's batshit insane. I best remember her from a post that was linked in a feminist community, where she'd stolen some of her brother's porno magazines (because he left them out on the bathroom counter) and chopped them up with scissors. She posted the remains of the magazines in her journal, and everyone was singing her praises.

On the one hand, pretty much everyone connected with antiporn is batshit. On the other hand, my understanding of living with others is that if you don't want them destroying or shitcanning your stuff, especially nominally transient stuff like magazines, don't leave it in communal areas like, oh, say... the bathroom.

hey i'm not about creating lj drama, but i totally agree with you on the porn site thing. it's impossible to see what porn does to society if you're not even willing to take a truly empirical look. it is the exploitation of girls with dreams of modelling and acting trying to pay their expensive bills in LA being taken advantage of by sleazy masogynists who wish to do nothing more than perpetuate distorted, disfunctional gender roles.

You keep using this word, 'empirical.' I do not think it means what you think it means.

Because, really, if we were talking empirically, we would realize that the "one in five american women is raped" number that you and so many others like to throw around is based on a survey question which asked, "Have you ever had a sexual experience which you later regretted?" However broad your views, I think we can all agree that bad sex does not necessarily equal rape.

P.S. Real empiricists know how to capitalize. And spell "dysfunctional."
