Oh, you crazy wankers!
I can't believe that there hasn't been a linguaphiles wank in here in ages; from where I've been standing, it seems as if all those guys do is wank. Then again, YMMV on that.

Anyway, it all starts with a mod post from timwi asking about changes in the community. Several people bring up a dislike of people asking for words in x language, their loudest supporter being sixunneuf. Remember this, cause it's important.

Later on, sixunneuf posts a pedantic little post about forming a new community for said questions and people snap and hiss over hir whining and call hir on rudeness and intellectual elitism.

Now, before you all go 'ZOMG MINOR', it is a post in a community and therefore fair game.

Of course, that's all older news and sixunneuf has made her token bitchy leaving speech (yet still not left), but there's a nice juicy bit of new spooge up as of today.

blue_kamehame is a new member who expresses hir dismay at such unbearable intellectual snobbery and tsk-tsks us all.

Edit: Feel free to mock me since I went a little over the top. What can I say; I like linguaphiles wank. It's got a lot of snobbery and cattish behavior involved. Spicy.

Ah, you caught me on a journalistic hyperbole. Damn you're good.

From what I saw, there were a quite few people calling her out and bitching about the complaining and even more who snapped at her comments directly. Since it even spilled into another post, I thought it was enough to merit a 'FLIP THEIR SHIT' tag, as small a kerfluffle as it was. People weren't exactly polite about their disagreements and neither were the OP of the last two posts dealing with the subject.

	What can I say, I'm easily amused. Though now that I think about it, I should downplay this a little. I'm writing for otf_wank, not a tabloid. It was also more bark than bite and the OP was being a bitch, so they did deserve the response. (Reply to this)(Parent)
