I don't think otherkin are fandom, strictly speaking--unless it's all the people who mess themselves over that guy who thinks he's a blue inflatable dragon. (WTF is his name? Kaijima?) Otherkin are crazy, but you call them fandom and they'll rape you astrally. Because you deserved it for casting aspersions on their noble dwaggy natures, and such.

My favorite otherkin are the ones that are RPG-invented races. ^-^

Why hello there ^_^ Thank you guys for more hits on the web-counter ;)

By the way, since people seem to be actually terrible at spotting real humor that doesn't involve being pretentious snarks-who-claim-to-snark-at-people-they-say-are-snarky, I don't actually claim to be an -inflatable- dragon in spirit ;) The inflatable bit is for fun, and uh, perhaps like those people who actually read more of the things I've written -past- simply seeing the words "otherkin" and "dragon", I hardly take myself too seriously in the "noble" dragon sense.

As for the art rant, thank you for the compliments ^_^ It's been very well recieved by a whole lot of artists, probably more than half of whom are not even furry, or otherkin, or anything else you fine, upstanding uh, normal, people are required to pee on ^_^

What bothers me about debate is a certain group of people say the same things over and over again. Lots of one-trick ponies there and those who use the same arguments over and over again.

They're either preaching to the choir or hoping they sway some of the opposition. The former is likely, while I've never seen the latter happen. If it has, it's very seldom.

Every once in awhile though, you get the otherkin stuff and it's fun to watch! AHHA!

Trying to read through three pages of comments is making my tired (and admittedly lazy) brain threaten mutiny, so I'll just comment on that which I've seen.

To StarBlade.

When starting a debate on the validity of beliefs - particularly those to whom may seem "unconventional" or even suitable evidence that you're a "whackjob" amongst a debate community, it is best to leave your own beliefs out of it and stick to just general concepts - IE: the belief that everything is energy and therefore nothing exists, because energy itself doesn't exist. Inserting your own belief system into your arguments will set you up to be mocked.

To the members of the debate community.

No matter how "nutty" someone is, their beliefs alone do not make them psychotic. After all, we all have unconventional views on SOMETHING, and if unconventional views make us all "whackjobs", then a "whackjob" am I.

Also, inflamitory language tends to be counter-productive to a rational debate, as anger and other emotions can and do keep one from arguing rationally - especially in a forum designed specifically for rational debate.

In short, neither side is coming out on top of this argument, as they're basically feeding off of each other's flames and letting personal comments about sanity and what's a valid argument get in the way of good debating. Present your facts, not your assumptions. That (in my simplistic definition of debate) is what debating is all about. Right?

And if this post itself does not make sense or provides an illogical argument, then blame my lazy brain for not even attempting to come up with something that is logical or makes sense.
