To be fair, she didn't say blonde hair, just that you had to have "light hair and eyes".

I couldn't resist the urge to jump in, because I have dark brown hair and dark eyes, and I've always been under the impression that I am very much Caucasian.

If I'm not, I wish someone would've told me that sooner! Not having to put Caucasian on my application probably would've helped me get in to Georgetown.

	She's German, I think. I think that explains the spelling, and probably also the odd-sounding degree fields. "Anglistics" in particular sounds pretty familiar to me from my year at a German Uni. Actually, given their username and their use of the term oriental (or oriantal), I'm sensing a belly dance connection here. And as Egypt is generally considered the cradle of oriental dance aka raqs sharki aka "eastern dance", I get what she's saying.

She doesn't say Egyptians are not Africans. She says the culture is not African (which, considering the Greek and Arab influence is true). Egyptian culture is quite specific to itself, by all accounts.

I see no wank, just misunderstanding.
