Icon wank
Troll goes into iconaddicts.

Troll says, in post titled retards:
I don't get it.. do you people still not realize, that all these little pics are NOT icons?? they are AVATARS!
and in that case, since all you seem to be doing is only avatars, your community should be called avataraddicts and not iconaddicts!
bunch of morons..

Wank ensues.

I myself do tend to think of them as "avs". ... Or "icons". Whatever. Avatars really apply more to realtime communication images, like for Virtual Places, tho.
I dunno that it's a troll, might just be a dip.

If not for the name-calling, yes, could be a dip. However, he invokes 'retards,' 'morons,' and the ever popular 'fags.'

I say we go for a double wedding myself.

That made me giggle. "Aren't you just a little ball of sunshine?"

I defriended that community to avoid LOTR spoilers. DAMN! Dare I go look?

And, yeah, my icon here is an avatar. Who better to represent the darkness of my DL Anon/Fandom Wank heart than Vampira? MUAHA! (Well, either her or my Growling Frodo icon.)

At the moment, thread is entirely LOTR-free.

Could change, though. I'm surprised they haven't deleted it yet.

Thanks! I checked it out. Not the most gripping wank in the world.

"You're stoopit!

"No, you are!"

"You are!"

"Nuh UH, you are!" etc...

I'm sorry, Dunc, that was a slam at the lack of originality of the wankers, not you!

Now I've got guilt.

I'm surprised Iconaddicts gets so little of that sort of thing. Usually it's somebody who doesn't read the comm instructions, is politely corrected, and then pitches a massive shitfit.

According to the dictionary, icon is the word that works the best, though from what I have seen the words are used interchagably. Kind of a silly thing for the Wanker to have attacked, really.

ICON
Main Entry: icon

Date: 1572
1 : a usually pictorial representation : IMAGE
2 : [Late Greek eikOn, from Greek] : a conventional religious image typically painted on a small wooden panel and used in the devotions of Eastern Christians
3 : an object of uncritical devotion : IDOL

Thanks! I wish it could be accompanied by the Haunting Torgo Theme. I was inspired by your Merlin icon...I can't think why I hadn't brought Torgo in much sooner other than knowing that the Master would not approve.

Yes, that was a DEATHLY important semantic point that was so totally worth bothering everyone for.

Good job, troll, I'm sure the entire LJ system will change its slang now just for you.

(Though that does remind me of the time a troll freaked the fuck out at me because I called him a troll. He quite literally thought I was calling him one of those fairy-tale creatures that lives under bridges. I laughed and laughed and...)

This guy is such an obvious troll (in his post, and also his replies), I'm just amazed the community moderator did not just delete it without comment.

I wonder if trolls are looking for communities where the community mod seems to be absent? (See my latest post in fandom_wank)
