Much thanks to the mouse in wank_report for this one. *snuggles mouse*

Over on the pro_scurvy community (a parody of pro_ana comms), the moderator (mia_d) decides that the place is not what it used to be due to "incomprehensible faggots" and "emo nerds", so she’s going to be deleting almost everything, save the "pre-emo" posts. Anyone who tries to question the decision is accused of liking fellatio a bit too much, being a faggot or both.

And then it descends into madness with mia_d screaming at people to get out of her community.



The Odd Mod Post

My Dad was the funniest man I ever knew. He taught me everything he could about humor, and his number one rule was "NEVER RUN ANY JOKE INTO THE GROUND".

Guys, I have no idea what is going on but ProScurvy has been around for almost two years, and the joke is just really not funny anymore. It was fine when it was a small group of friends, having staged infights and watching the pro ana people get pissed off as much as possible. When a straggler came in taking it seriously and began wagging their finger, that was pretty great too.

Alas, this place has become filled with what seems to be INCOMPREHENSIBLE FAGGOTS running the joke into the ground like a thresher cutting comedy wheat and milling into shit. Sorry guys, but the joke aint funny no more.

So I'm deleting as many of the entries as I can, letting this one stand along with some of the old, pre-emo invasion ones. It will take a while, and of note is that no new entries are allowed.

I was having a change of heart but SOME CERTAIN ASSHOLES have changed my mind and DELETING IT ALL NOW

In Conclusion, GO BE EMO ELSEWHERE AND GET OUT OF MY COMMUNITY

How nice. mia_d learned her method of humor delivery from the people at LJ Drama. It's when you say something that starts out perfectly normal and then SUDDENLY CAPS AND OVERUSED PHRASE LIKE O NOES LOL

It did occur to me that it may be a joke but when I compared it to other posts made in the comm, this one had a ring of truth to it. The homophobia of the post and resulting comments seemed geniune to me. If it turns out to be a huge staged fight and the humour went over my head, then I'll take my lumps.

Yeah, you're wrong - about the homophobia thing at the very least.

But it's still wanky, so it belongs here. The huge fight as far as I know isn't staged, but mia has a very different persona when she's deliberately trying to tick people off; she's quite a gifted shit-stirrer.

As a pro_s member, I'd like to point out that the moderator is having a really bad week (as in her father was found dead and had been gone for several days when he was found). We're all being a little protective of mia this week; I see her explosion on pro_s as a way of letting off some steam. I'll probably get my head handed to me for this, but give her just a little break, mkay?

As far as I know, having been in pro_scurvy since the beginning, it's not a joke. Neither do I accept her father's death as a "get out of Fandom Wank free" card, but I figure it at least helps to understand what's going on.

I'm honestly in two minds about this. On the one hand, I do agree with you that there's no excuse for those kinds of comments and that there are better ways of letting of steam. On the other, I know that grief can make you act crazy. So I'm really not sure what to do.

I'm really sorry to hear about her father, and I know from experience how a personal tragedy can make you act a little crazy. I guess the homophobia of the post was what did it for me.

At any rate, I'm not sure what to do now. Deleting posts is considered bad form, maybe friendslocking?
