Always reliable deviantWank...
"deviant"Art has come a long way from the days when one of the options for the user-type under your name was "Pornographic Connoisseur".

Lots of wank in the comments, and people pointing out the obvious, especially the porn making the Daily Deviations because they haven't passed the memo onto the admin. And obligatory furry-bashing.

Particularly hilarious is the guy who had the inflation pr0n favved and his vigilante-style mission to educate us to the evils of dA.

Also, Godwin's! But I think we need a similar law for Iraq...

You have to give a hand to DA for making violent artworks acceptable in their policies while pr0n isn't.

When it comes down to it we have community population ade up mostly of minors and in a 'contest' between images of pornography and images of violence, violence is still far more acceptable for them to view.

Uh-huh. Right. And here I thought that violence and sex are both equally unacceptable for minors to view.

Bitch, please.

You left out their over-burgeoning concern for Nazis and Holocaust revisionists.

Personally, I am crushed and shocked--shocked!--that I can no longer be a Pornographic Connoisseur. Way to alienate your fanbase, dA!

Or a "[foo bar] Whore". Even if I like to keep my status set to 'lurker', it was still fun to see it there...

Indeed. Because depictions of a perfectly natural function of the human body is so much more scarring than images of people hacking each other to bits, for example.

Reminds me of an article I read, in which Natalie Portman(?) said she wouldn't play characters in sexual situations until she reached a certain age, but still took an uber-violent role in The Profesional at age 10 with no qualms whatsoever. For some bizarre reason, in the US, extreme violence is so much more acceptable than sex.

Which is, you know. All kinds of fucked up.

Well, was she playing a violent part herself?

Haven't seen it myself, but I believe she did.

Well, I know that I'd feel a lot more comfortable hitting someone onscreen than I would screwing someone.

It's even better when someone's hitting a person who raped screwed them too.

Too much Dogville is really not healthy for someone's media morals...

she plays a little girl that wants to learn to be a hitman to kill the guys that shot her 4yr old brother.

she fires several shots in one scene, and snipes a dude with a paint round. rest of the violence (save for the when the police storm the apartment at the end) occurs apart from her.

Shooting really isn't violence unless you hit someone.

Unfortunately, most parents and their lawyers agree with Bitch in this one.

So many reasons not to bother with DevArt anymore.
