Being pro-life means...well, we're not entirely sure.
You can't go to Planned Parenthood and be pro-life! I don't care if you might get cervical cancer or if it actually costs Planned Parenthood money to give you care!"

Really, this wank speaks for itself. Good times for everyone!

Thanks to a [info]wank_report mouse. Edited because I shouldn't post at bedtime.

Yeah. I love how he wanks all over the place about the sanctity of human life and then insists that other humans should ignore serious medical conditions if PP is the only place they can go for treatment.

Pro-lifers seem to quit caring so much about human life as soon as it leaves the womb.

This is a whole bunch of men trying to tell the ladies on that comm what they should do with their bodies, isn't it?

My late grandfather always said the men had no place in telling women what to do with their bodies. If a man who grew up before WW2 knew this, why in the hell do guys from this day and age not?*

*Grandpa grew up in a time where women died in childbirth a lot more often then they do now.
It's kind of hard to think you have any right to stick your nose in when they're the ones risking their life, when for you it's no risk at all.

The one thing I have to ask is this:

Birth control is evil? So..... they're not going to complain if people who use Planned Parenthood for birth control suddenly stop and become welfare recepients to take care of all the kids they have? Right. It is a logical assumption. And I'm talking the married couples who do this. Because single parenting is a whole 'nother kettle of fish.

Ah. Godisprolife. He's been a thorn in the side of pro-choicers for awhile now, on the abortiondebate comm as well as various others. It is his self appointed mission in life to rid the world of abortion at all costs.

Including the cost of women's lives, apparently.

Sweet merciful fuck. I was bowled over by the awfulness of dies_irae's comments, so much that I had to go to his LJ to get some more.* Here's a shredling of the insanity:

His turn-ons include:

motherhood as the epitome of beauty
as a male.
as an artist.
as a lover of objective truth.
Women are the unrivaled most beautiful of all of GOD's creations.
This is the case though of the true women who do not feel the need to deviate from the roles beset by them by their nature.

On body art:

I want to see if I can find a tattoo shop near by Stafford, VA...I really have a lot of problems with all the porn and pagan overtones in the majority of tat shops, I would love to be able to find a shop that is free from that and perhaps even has a couple of Catholic artists.

On lowrise jeans:

But under that that area of skin, that slight lil slope on her tummy is right where the baby will begin growing someday. The reason those jeans are so hot is because they make us men think of that woman being a mother, and appeals to our natural desire to have children with her.

Scariest of all: keeps yourself, your children, and your fertile, fertile uterus away from the twitchy guy at Michael's:

I used to work at Michael's. For a couple weeks I would catch myself thinking time and time again "wow, shes really beautiful" as I would look down from the tall stocking ladders and see these cute young mothers shopping. After a week or two of seeing dozens of gorgeous women with babies in their tummies, or in carriages or a few toddlers en tow. I finally decided that either silly crafts attract beautiful women or that there was simply something about their motherhood that enhanced their beauty so much. Lets just say I dont think its the crafts...

*It's like when you eat a little bit of bad tunafish and you get a tummyache. So you eat some more bad tunafish and you throw up and then you feel better.**

**FWIW, I really don't recommend this as a cure for the common tummyache.

Disclaimer: The following is my opinion and by no means intended to make anyone change their mind. ;)

godisprolife and dies_irae need to get the heck off my side. There's a big difference between being pro-life and being anti-abortion. Those two, from their comments, are anti-abortion. They don't care why the woman feels she might need it, they just want to make abortion go away FOREVORZ!!!!!111!one!11 From what I've seen, true pro-lifers look at fixing the problem rather than just taking away whatever solutions don't appeal to them. Anti-abortionists, rather than addressing the problems such as poverty, lack of efficient health care, lack of efficient education concerning STDs and birth control, and the prevalence of rape and/or sexual abuse, which can all contribute to unwanted pregnancies, seem to just focus on stopping abortion in it's tracks. And frankly, that pisses me off. There are always going to be women who, for one reason or another, feel they need an abortion whether it's legal to have one or not. Why not focus on helping fewer women feel they need to have one rather than just take away one of their options? Like I said, those two need to get off my side. They're making the pro-lifers who actually care about women look like asses.

Sorry, that's just one thing that presses my buttons lately. ;) And I totally respect pro-choice folks. I would just prefer that women would choose life, but unfortunately that's not possible for many of them, which is what I think we should work on changing.
