To snip or not to snip? That is the question!
After poking around JournalFen, I finally found a place that I could post this wank in. (considering there's no fandom for this wank you are about to read.)

Meet a Livejournal community by the lovely name of Fuckyoulist. Sounds like a wonderful, happy place, right?

I wish. This place has wanks up the wazoo, considering the point of the community is to give your lovely "Fuck you"s to the public.

Enter Brasso and his/her opinions of the wonderful world of circumcision. He/She says, using a wonderful variety of netspeak, that circumcision is vain and is only used to make the penis look pretty.

Naturally, other people fend for this snipping act by saying there's religion and tradition involved, but Brasso keeps on truckin' with her "religion is bunk" excuse.

I personally think the best part is when Brasso says that sex is better with an uncut penis.

I've hered that the health reasons are bulslhit and I think the religious reasons are totally bunk.

I've hered that if you spell properly people are less likely to call you an assmunch.

I have no idea about circumcision itself, I mean, I was raised in a Judeo-Christian way and thinking it was all for the best and all, but I don't know squat about it. I just know it doesn't kill anybody, unlike female circumcision (vitriol!!) And I find that I tune out people who automatically dismiss religious reasons as dumb.

Regardless of the fact that the OP seems to not be the brightest bulb in the bunch, I have heard that the health benefits are minimal and that sex is better because of the amount of nerve endings in the foreskin. But I don't have a penis and/or a desire to have children, so I guess it's not something that really affects me that much.

Actually, it's not so much the amount of nerve endings in the foreskin, as that the foreskin helps to shield the glands from de-sensitizing.

I've heard that there are health/sensitivity/cleanliness benefits one way or another. What I can't stand are the asshats who go off on rants about how circumcision is ZOMG TEH BARBARIC MUTILATION. I like to respond, "Um, speaking as a barbarian..." just to watch them backpedal.

As I learned from an uncut friend who went to Burning Man, apparently not having a foreskin is a benefit to comfort out in the desert. Apparently that sand gets everywhere.

It seems incredibly, incredibly fucked up to me to alter a baby's penis because it's what everybody does, or because they don't think it'll be possible for the kid to wash his wang properly, or because they want it to look like daddy's, or because they think it will stop him from masturbating, or for supposed health reasons which are indeed bullshit. That said, get the hell off my side, you're making it look horrifyingly stupid.

Oh, hey, the Fuckyoulist. I had to leave there a couple of years ago because some random dickwad took a disliking to me and decided to flame every post I made.

And Brasso needs to be removed from my side. Go, shoo! Support whale-killing or something so I can hate you properly.

I don't think I've ever seen a circumcised penis in real life. The ones I've seen in pictures always look sort of ... not finished. And a wee bit scary. Also, how would you go commando with no foreskin? Wouldn't the constant chafing of trousers on glans cause, um, problems?

Yeah, when I found out I was having a boy I did all this research and went OMGWTFBBQ. Baby boys die or are summarily castrated every year for this? I think not mine, kthxbai. And gee...not a HINT of insecurity that he doesn't look like Daddy or his cousin or fill in the blank who the hell else. But yes, brasso - off my side, because sour grapes smell icky.

Ugh. I stopped hanging out on parenting sites because of the circumcision debates. And people on both side can be freaking NUTS. On one side, you have the 'you mutilated your child you are a horrible parent!' group, on the other you have the 'my son will never be accepted by society if he isn't circed, he'll get AIDS, women will laugh at him and reject him, and he'll have issues because his penis doesn't look like his father's!' Holy crap, people.

And in case anyone wonders, i wouldn't do it if i had a son. I think it's unneccessary. I try to respect people's religious beliefs on the matter though.

My cut boyfriend was actually less appealing hygenically than my uncut one. because it doesn't matter how much skin there is, it matters how often/well you clean yourself. Fancy that.
