My name is Copywronged!
Over at deviantArt, PoizonMyst has an important question about rips! "Is Using Sumone Elses Nick A Rip? Eva Typed UR Nick In Google?"

Apparently, she has recently googled her name and discovered that *gasp* someone else is using the same nick and she's upset because she intentionally chose her name to be unique. Nevermind that the "imposter" is not claiming to be our heroine, the fact is that one day she might! (Warning: the imposter PoizonMyst's website is eyebleedingly bad, with animated backgrounds and all. May cause browser issues.)

Amolerouth leads the (polite) charge, pointing out that online names cannot be copyrighted. Things go rapidly downhill from there when googlyminotaur opines, "...just when you thought a bigger web n00b couldn't come along..."

Aaaaand they're off...

Grammar Police!
aforb-anduforme: "My eyes hurt from readin, "wot cums" twice to understand what it truyl meant."
PoizonMyst: Apologys that u couldnt understand wot I was asking in my thread. To tell u the truth, the grammer in ur post wasnt the easiest to decypher either.

You don't understand meeeee!
"Upon searching ur nick I received 1,750 results. Either u hav a huge web presence or ur nick is not that rare ... because of this, I wouldnt expect u to understand my post."

Spelling on the internet doesn't count!
"As for butchering the English language, this is a forum, not a spelling bee .... when I write sumthing that requires formal use of English, I use it. By the way, hav u ever heard of creative licence?"

"wot does it matta to u neway? As I said ... I didnt no this was a spelling contest. Do U really think that ima gonna stop ... just cause u dun like it .... ha. Like u said urself ... find sumthin betta 2 complain about."

The entire thing disolves into a fap fest over spelling, proper names vs made up names, uniqueness and cricket as a metaphor for google.

Oh, and our friend PoizonMyst? She's 31.

Holy motherfucking christ on a pogo stick - she's the same age as me? And she's wanking over someone having the same username as her? And she doesn't see the point of proper spelling and grammar?

*goes to weep for her generation*

How can people even write that poorly? It cause me physical pain to even attempt to emulate that.

Cause=causes of course. Don't want to spell badly when complaining about someone else. *hides*

apparently, she's a mother of two.
both her children have "unique" names. I'd love to know what they are.

Wouldnt you just ... cause u hasvnt got the ability to think of your own? And as for comprehending a post ... she's a mother of three but two of her kids have unique names ... listed as such by the birth registery for the year of their birth. When one creates a unique name you are informed of it directly by the birth registry.

I can just imagine what this chick was like in school.

"That's not a typo, it's creative license!"

"I didn't make up facts instead of researching, I just used creative license!"

"Who cares if I answered 'a' on a question that wasn't multiple choice! Creative license!"

Holy crap. From reading it, I guessed that she was 15-18.

Damn was I off. :-(

*points up* But that's why you use proper grammar and spelling! Well, unless you are trying to pass for an illiterate 18-year-old...

I think that the older someone like that gets, the more senile and stubborn they become to Earth Logic. I know a 55 year old who types even worse than that because she's too lazy to go anywhere outside of a games site.

YES! I saw this the other day and knew it had potential!

I like how PoizonMyst keeps insisting that she's NOT UPSET, it's just that HER NAME IS VERY UNIQUE.

And the spelling is... yeah. I have a horrible feeling she's a disEYEple of fysche.

I'd visited before, but she apparently added this recently, highlighting her utter ignorance of religious tradition/lingo:

in the bible God started the world with The Word)<---NO! In John God WAS the Word! The Word is Jesus, and because he is an expression of God's love, THROUGH him the world was made! Theology student SMASH!
&
every letter has a vibration
<---now add a dash of Hinduism (I think, not as familiar with the Eastern religions as with Monotheistic ones)
[...]
& a connection with THE ONE, the INFINITE, the EIN SOPH.

eye gave a copy of my newest book 2 my new Kabbalah Guru, JMetatron (he is from NYC ... )

& he says that
my work
although unlike other works
stems from a tradition that is thousands of years old

the holiest of holies.
<---- Somehow I don't think that phrase means what she thinks it means. Unless her linguistic stylings are in a back chamber of a temple that only a the High Priest can visit on the Day of Atonement.

I really shouldn't read that site. It always gets my blood up, esp. as she's supposed to have a B.A. in English.

Because how on earth could anyone think up such a unique and special name as "PoizonMyst."

Bitch, please. If you really wanted a unique name, you could have gone with something like ...

Left_Uranium_Squidgbert
8821301181_bleefertnum
Xdksov_disisos_jjjjjjjjjjj

What you wanted was a special Magic Fairy crap name. Well, so do all the other lameasses out there, so get in line.

And if it was that big a deal ... why not Google the name before you sign up with it?! Just to be sure no one else has it? Just think, you could have caught the error in time and been Po1Z1NmYSt. I cry emo tears for your loss.

Ow...I didn't even manage to read all the forum posts before I gave up on trying to read the 'net speak' of 'wot, sum, newaze'

With so many people around the world using the internet...isn't it common sense that at least ONE other person is bound to come up with the same thing? With that many people, it's very likely to happen. Ah well....
