My name is Copywronged! Over at deviantArt, PoizonMyst has an important question about rips! "Is Using Sumone Elses Nick A Rip? Eva Typed UR Nick In Google?" Apparently, she has recently googled her name and discovered that *gasp* someone else is using the same nick and she's upset because she intentionally chose her name to be unique. Nevermind that the "imposter" is not claiming to be our heroine, the fact is that one day she might! (Warning: the imposter PoizonMyst's website is eyebleedingly bad, with animated backgrounds and all. May cause browser issues.) Amolerouth leads the (polite) charge, pointing out that online names cannot be copyrighted. Things go rapidly downhill from there when googlyminotaur opines, "...just when you thought a bigger web n00b couldn't come along..." Aaaaand they're off... Grammar Police! aforb-anduforme: "My eyes hurt from readin, "wot cums" twice to understand what it truyl meant." PoizonMyst: Apologys that u couldnt understand wot I was asking in my thread. To tell u the truth, the grammer in ur post wasnt the easiest to decypher either. You don't understand meeeee! "Upon searching ur nick I received 1,750 results. Either u hav a huge web presence or ur nick is not that rare ... because of this, I wouldnt expect u to understand my post." Spelling on the internet doesn't count! "As for butchering the English language, this is a forum, not a spelling bee .... when I write sumthing that requires formal use of English, I use it. By the way, hav u ever heard of creative licence?" "wot does it matta to u neway? As I said ... I didnt no this was a spelling contest. Do U really think that ima gonna stop ... just cause u dun like it .... ha. Like u said urself ... find sumthin betta 2 complain about." The entire thing disolves into a fap fest over spelling, proper names vs made up names, uniqueness and cricket as a metaphor for google. Oh, and our friend PoizonMyst? She's 31.
