Creationist Wank - and Dinosaurs Attacking the Ark!!!

</a></b></a>[info]theferrett finds a book on a creationist's view of dinosaurs, and posts a few scans of the author's vision of wrathful dinosaurs attaching the ark.

In the comments </a></b></a>[info]monenigme posts stop being on my side, you're making my side look stupid. Because she is, of course, a creationist herself.

Highlight: She has evidence that fossil records actually disprove evolution, but will only give it out via email.

For the most part, everyone is being relatively polite, but oh, the spooge!

Those scans are hysterical. XD

I'l reserve any commentary on the wank itself, as it is one of my touchy areas, but suffice to say, science and religion are not mutally exclusive. Let alone evolution and religion. You can believe in both.

I especially enjoyed: "And then I asked myself, what would it look like if these vicious dinosaurs attacked noahs ark.."

Because, you know, I wonder stuff like that all the time.

"Destroy the ark!" "Kill them!". Bwaaah!

Am I happy that science can back up my religious beliefs? You betcha.
Kinda says it all, doesn't it?

Dinosaurs=fun! Dinosaurs attack=super fun! Dinosaurs attacking Noah's ark at the behest of evil angels=THE MOST FUN EVER (and proof creationism is fact)!

Best of all, those are some darned nice illustrations. "And then I asked myself, what would it look like if Hal Foster and Jack Chick joined in spiritual marriage and produced a a demented creationist who could actually draw?!?"

Pure joy.

Yes, it's all true. The dinosaurs became extinct because they drowned in the flood and all the aquatic reptiles like the pleisosaurs, mososaurs and ichthyosaurs died out because...erm...well they got depressed because all their dinosaur buddies died. Or something.

I'm not sure what it says that when I read "ark" (before reading the OP), I thought "Ark of the Covenant".

...and imagined the dinosaurs getting all Raiders-ized.

I'll shut up now.

daenarys: Not to mention that much of the fossil record actually refutes the evolutionary theory.

*blink* Where? What evidence do you have to support that statement? Preferably from a source that's not a creationists website please. Not a personal attack honest I just want to seewhat you have.

monenigme: OK. Well there's inherently one thing wrong with your request.

An evolutionist isn't going to show you fossil records to support creationist theory.

And a creationist isn't going to show you fossil records to support evolutionary theory.

...

I'm trying to decide whether she means that she's deliberately withholding all information that doesn't back up her side, or that there is no such thing as objective fact. And which is scarier.

Oh, Mr. Spielberg, it's okay. You don't have to pretend to not be Jewish to pitch your "Jurassic Park IV" idea to us. It's only natural to want to keep milking your two best franchises. A coupler notes of con crit though: it isn't clear where you mean to work your compulsory dino poop joke into this, or the ever-smarter dromaeosaurids. Maybe the surprise twist at the end is that 'raptors built the Ark Noah and his family are GOD is a 'raptor? That'd be totally sweet.

But geez, what is it with these yobs lately? First the "What's wrong with YECs?" thread over at GAFF, and now this.

I love the insane Chinese-language connection to the Ark. Holy fuck, is that ever out of left field. Dude, if enough insane Christians knew Chinese, I can guarantee they'd find biblical messages in TONNNS of them, if they get biblical connections from "boat eight people" OMG ARK.

So like, if Chinese people knew about the Ark all along, does that mean they were like, "Fuck it. This God person blows. Let's worship our ancestors/bodhisattvas/Lao Tze instead"? Those HERETICS!

I just read this a little while ago, and since it made me think of this particular wank, I thought I'd share - Creationism: God's gift to the ignorant, from the TimesOnline.

And before I'm attacked, that's the title of the article, not my personal phrasing of the subject.

This makes me want to pour on the Brain Bleach, because it brings me back to the trauma I experienced when my Youth Group leader tried to tutor me in tenth grade biology. ;__;

By the time the crazy woman said that radio-isotope dating wasn't reliable because God can change the half-life of an isotope at His whims in order toporevent us from knowing the Earth's true age, I gave up on Christianity altogether. (Never mind the anti-Semitism and the gay-bashing at my old church...)

Dinosaurs never fail to please.

Gah, I always feel tempted to jump into evolution fap-fests. Evolution doesn't explain why life came to exist in its current form. It doesn't touch that with a 39 1/2 foot pole. Religion and science don't have to be mutually exclusive.
