Wah! I didn't win daddy, sue them!
Over at that great bastion of wank, The Straight Dope Message Board, somebody started this thread about the father who is suing his son's minor hocky association because it failed to award him MVP. People laugh, mock, etc etc. It's eventually forgotten.

Until this update thread. Things go on basically as normal and then the boy's father registers and posts. And it's a doozy.

I read the Dad's post twice, and it still doesn't make any sense. Can anyone enlighten me, or is he just a complete cumstain?

It's something along the lines of the guy who does the points not adding his son's points because he was so far ahead in the league. Or something like that.

I think. Maybe.

Braingoboom.

That guy's posts read vaguely like something run through babelfish from English to Japanese and back to English. It's... kind of weird.

Also, I did not know that hockey was a human right.

Clearly.

Here in California we cannot have hockey because we're using all the electricity to run the air conditioner. But, like, Human Rights Watch isn't here yet, so I sort of figured...

Whoops. I just realised that it was not credited, and updated with correct credits and it changed that post to my default. My bad. [info]dunc made it and I believe it is on her website, stealably so. :)

I suppose yelling "GET A LIFE!" really loud isn't going to help, is it?

PS: Don't blame the kid. Look what he has raising him. *shudders*

What does teaching him to skate have to do with hockey? Does the kid do little pirrouettes and figure-eights as he runs after the ball?

'Course not. The Mighty Ducks was the coolest movie when I was little. I totally watched it whenever it came on and still do sometimes. (I totally prefer Emilio Estevez in that movie ;) )

I keep trying to read his post, but my brain blanks out everything it says as soon as it's read it. Then my eyes start wandering aimlessly over the post, trying to get hooked by anything that makes sense, find and read the message from Rick, then ram into the dad's part of the post again and skitter away once more. I just can not focus on his words long enough to figure out what they say. It's spooky.

Oddly enough, I had exactly the same problem. My eyes just would not focus, and I ended up skimming down to the part from Rick as well. Maybe our brains have crazy-filters or something.

OMGWTFBBQ.

Jeez, it's just SPORTS. And whenever I failed to win somehting academic, I was much harder on myself than my parents weer on me.

Is this like suing McDonald's for having hot coffee, or what?

It's both comforting and saddening to see that America isn't the only place where people get more wrapped up in sports rather than push for academic prowless.
