The page will load eventually(both livejournal and the SDMB itself can be pains, but they work).

In this case, Flam gets a birthday card from someone who has MS and is a friend of hers. He doesn't put her name in the card and she thinks it's rude and says so on the message board itself. Someone, who is a lesbian, decides to tell her that she was wrong for being so thoughtless(you'll see it once the MB link loads). Flam calls her a "degenerate". Everyone on the board knew that she called that lady a "degenerate" because she was a lesbian.

On the "Pit thread", linked on the LJ OP, you'll see that it's just the tip of the iceberg as to why so many people dislike Flamsterette_X and why they knew that "degenerate" was meant as an anti-gay insult.

I mean, the sheer tonnage of flesh-rending fury descending on this arguably-deserving person's head because she asked for it... it's like watching somebody ass-rape a hamster with the Eiffel Tower. (Granted, I probably wouldn't find that nearly as funny, especially if I was within the burst radius. Unless the hamster was provably bigoted against gerbils or something.)
