Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
The APOD picture stretches people's friends pages.

Wank happens.

I'd be annoyed if that pic weren't cut-tagged and b0rked up my friends view, too.

Same here, I've had that happen and it's a royal pain.

*shrugs* It's annoying at times, but a) worth it and b) really fucking wanky to fap over it in a place where nothing can be done. Doesn't matter if NASA could set up the apod RSS feed with a link instead of the pic; they're not reading those comments.

Exactly. I thought it was inconsiderate until I realized it was an RSS feed with NASA. NASA sends out some of the the most beautiful, but the largest, pics I've seen on the Internet. But, it does not care about lj-cuts.

He needs to get an image zapper or go take a happy pill.

Eh, I'd shrug and switch filters until the offending picture disappeared off the bottom of my friendsview, not wank about it. But I'd still be annoyed. I didn't realize APOD was a feed, but I really should have.

*shrugs* Meh... a single click in Firefox and it's gone. Big deal.

That's a really pretty picture.

This is why I have feeds on their own filter. I have all sorts of comics and APOD so if they didn't have their own filter it would just make reading my friends list very annoying.

*raises hand*

I put my comic behind an LJ-cut every day!

Cool! :D On my feeds filter I don't really car because there's always gonna be one or two that stretch it out. That's why I gave 'em their own filter. :P

Best alternate version of STFU I've ever seen:

I clearly wanted to state my opinion, as you did. I'm not interested in this whole chain thread crap.

And it worked!

Placeholders are my friends because some of the communities I belong to or some of my friendslist is real image-posty and some of them go "la la la" when I ask nicely for lj-cut, please, thank you. Saved on load time when I was on dialup.

Now if LJ had an auto-cut for text like one can choose on PHP-Nuke and other similar progs, I'd be a real happy camper.

Thankfully I don't have anyone like Jacqui on my friendslist (warning: one vintage nude pic--potentially Not Work Safe-- and much tl;dr)

Definitely agreed on all points. I've had to filter some friends who would not stop fucking posting looooong ass entries under a cut, so a text auto-cut option would just be awesome.

Placeholder images... have none of these people heard of those?

I use them, and...guess what? Big pictures? They don't stretch out my layout. Isn't that shocking? I know I'm shocked.
