There's always goodness with the insane childfree.
So, on CF_Hardcore, that great bastion of reasoned and considered debate, a member by the name of LadyBast posts a confession she recieved through a mailing list. It is supposedly from a mother who has been breastfeeding her child for several years because she finds it sexually arousing.

There is a lot of outrage, as one would expect, but it is largely within the usual CF_Hardcore realm. There is potential for kerfuffles when a poster exclaims that the confession is obviously a fake, but wank is not reached until AcidFlowers comes to tell them that not all breastfeeders are this way. There is much bad language, complaints of rule-breaking and AcidFlowers has since been banned as a troll. Take a look, and draw your own conclusions.

I breastfed my eldest for 3 months, my 2nd for 5 months and my youngest 2 (twins) for 15 months. That... is just sick. And I don't think it's real. (The sexual part, that is)

And just wow... what an asshat AcidFlowers was.

You have to admit the CF lactation consultants add a certain extra smidgen of amusement, especially since the American Academy of Pediatrics issued a statement that breastfeeding to 24 months is the ideal goal... which argues against the "water after a year" model.

24 months? Are you serious? They do realize that 24 months equals two years, right? They do know that by two years old, those little fuckers have teeth right?

Who makes this shit up?

Well, compared to other mammals, it's about right. My aunt breast fed all of hers to about 24 months, and they simply learned that if they bit, the food was taken away.

Of course, that's what worked for her kids, YMMV.

Quite right.

Immediately, rudely, and with scary noises of indignation from the food source. Works very quickly, babies not being nearly as stupid as, oh, teenagers, for instance.

Since most babies start cutting teeth around 3 months, and humans were around for many many years before formula, the AAP, or even the internets, this should come as no surprise.

I just could not imagine having a two year old hanging from my tit. That just seems so...odd to me.

But then again, my mom didn't breast feed us and my sister only breast fed one of her kids (and she only did that until she went back to work), so this is all kinda foreign to me.

Of course, my dad thought it was perfectly acceptible to give us doritos before we had teeth, so it's probably no wonder my sense of nursing is completely warped.

Hell, I can't imagine it at all, but then I'm not planning on having children. Most of this conjecture is based on the fact that I realized something was really odd about human nursing schedules when we studied mammalian lactation in Biology, and then what my aunt did (and most of the hippie earth mothers around here in Eugene).

I had a boss who once told me that she breast fed her youngest until she was FOUR. So two is not that bad, if you think about it.

A hell of a lot less messy then creamed peas, that's for sure.

Yeah, but the creamed peas don't last that long. Just 'til the kid figures out how to gum a taco shell and not choke on it.

Dude, four? Uh, no. By then they're supposed to be able to successfully work a juice box without spilling most of it down the front of themselves.

If it's anything like my mother was (trying to skim around the edge of TMI here...) by the time you get up to the higher age brackets, it's not an exclusive thing. You know, daily food intake is some animal crackers, sandwich, apple juice and boob juice.

My kids began teething at about 4months. And I still BF the twins until they were about 15 months old.

And if they bit, they got put down. Period. I think my daughter bit me once and my son once. They learned very quickly.

Last time I checked, WHO recommended full 3 years of nursing. Yes, partly because of poor-nutrition areas where nursing as long as possible may make the difference between life and death, but still. Teeth can pop up even at 3 months, and yet the absolute minimum of recommended nursing here is 6 months.

Mum breastfed my little brother until he hit 22 months. She stopped only because he crawled on her lap during a staff meeting and tried to pull her shirt off (flashing everyone there). She figured that if he was going to go looking for it, it was time to stop.

Same principle applied to potty training, actually. When Stewart was able to change his own diapers, she decided that screw what the "experts" said, it was time for him to use the big boy toilet.

I have in the past come across people who are sexually aroused by abortions. I have officially decided that nothing surprises me in this realm anymore.

Hmm, never heard the sexual arousal angle before. I used to read a lot of alternative parenting sites where mothers were breastfeeding up to age 5 proudly. Seen a few articles where kids even older were being breastfed.

Older than five? That seems just a little odd. Shouldn't they be in school by then?

They are in school. I read a news story a few years ago where a woman was coming in during lunch to breastfeed her 8 year old.

Regardless of what that says about the mother-child relationship involved (I'm agnoistic about that), don't you think that made the kid's life pretty much hell the REST of the day?

**shiver** (imagining the reactions of eight-year-olds I have known to a breastfeeder in their midst)

Desmond Morris had this whole thing about how women are given some form of pleasure by breastfeeding as an incentive to keep doing it.

I <3 Desmond Morris for making even breastfeeding into sex and power. Hooray!

Desmond Morris is nuttier than squirrel shit. He thinks domestic cats - get this - enjoy sex, and that spaying and neutering is evil. I'm sure every female cat enjoys having a huge spiky penis in her vagina. That's why they try to tear the male to shreds at the end of copulation.

That's also why, if I ever own a cat, it will have its reproductive system removed at the earliest possible age.

Sorry for the OT. And the TMI about cat sex.

MNI, possibly [much necessary information]. And yeah, I read Cat-Watching when I was, what, eight? That book is disturbing. I still love Desmond Morris, though. He's crazy in the head.

[Had all my cats spayed as soon as it was physically possible, too. Wouldn't want them to have to get pregnant and all that. Also, extra kittens, while cute, turn into extra cats, and I'm contractually obliged to steer clear of Mad Cat Lady status until I'm at least 30]

For what it's worth, my mother claims I weaned myself at a very early age. Also, a friend of mine's kid refused to breastfeed from day one. So yeah, the babies themselves don't always cooperate.

Oh geeze. I'm away for months and this is the first post I'm tempted to comment on.

Yep. Breastfeeding is hot. It releases oxytocin, which is involved in milk production, uterine contractions, maternal bonding, sexual bonding, sexual arousal and orgasm. It's a hormone thing, not a perversion.

Besides, nipple stimulation is nipple stimulation, and not all women can do the "now it's a food breast... now it's a sex breast" thing. I've heard that one of the more common questions women have when they start breastfeeding is whether it's normal to be stimulated by it.

I also heard of a case in which a new mother told her nurse, with great embarrassment, that she was stimulated to orgasm by it. The nurse called in child protective services and got the kid taken away. Note that this isn't a Mother With Issues who's breastfeeding in order to become aroused; this is a woman with a hyperactive nervous system who was trying to find a workaround.

Now, if you're breastfeeding mainly for sexual release, you need to PUT THE KID DOWN, GET THERAPY, AND FIND YOURSELF AN ADULT LOVER STAT. Thank you.
