Straight edge offensive icon wank.
So, in the straight edge community, poor innocent SkaNeverDies posts a request for decent suppliers of straight edge slogan clothing. That's not the wank. Wank comes when AnarchySocks posts his (I assume he's a man) answer wearing an unpleasant icon. People react accordingly, with another user, AJDelaware, popping up to comment that people are too sensitive nowadays, and that images of sexual violence are funny, along with other forms of violence.

Of course, since that started, AnarchySocks appear to have swapped the icon he used originally for his default icon. Which is a picture of a baby smoking a cigarette. Anyone wishing to see both his icon pictures can go here. Be warned, the other icon is both unpleasant and violent, and not work-safe either.

It's just a pic of a baby with a cigarrete. It's not even lit. People need to calm the fuck down.

Oh, another of those lovely wanks where both sides are just totally wanky and fail at logic.

It was the other one that caused the wank, which he later swapped to the smoking baby icon. The anal rape one would be against LJ TOS as a default icon anyway, afaik.

Yes, I thought that they were ranting about the smoking baby for a while too. While the smoking aspect is hardly in keeping with the straight-edge philosophy, I was a bit curious about the level of anger about it - until people started talking about blood and rape and soforth, and I wondered what was going on. I suppose he'd had the other one as a default icon, but was told to take it down :-/

Well, I find the icons funny.

Me, too. Although the buttsex one is rather painful to look at.

Painful, yes, but in a funny way.

I don't think that violence can NEVER be funny, but I don't think it's automatically funny either. This image? Not unbearably offensive, but it didn't make me laugh.

The "world=pain, get over it" guy doesn't seem to have a sense of humor either.

Personally, I want to just get away from both these guys. I'm thinking that's not their real goal, but maybe I'm wrong.

"It's funny because someone's ass is bleeding"

aka: not funny.

That's what I thought.

Though I must say, I did laugh like mad at Bitter Films Of course, that's animation and not human, so there's a bit of a difference.

Isn't Straight Edge all about being chaste and just saying no and stuff? So why the smoking baby and bleeding ass? I don't get it.

AHAHAHAHA... that kid goes to my college... he mentioned it over in our college com on LJ... He made a good point in his LJ that they probably wouldn't have made a big stink if it had said 'he' and not 'she'. But, really, I find it hard to beleive that anyone at my school is straightedge... we were the number one pot school in the country last year... we win! or lose...

I personally love the always weak "I have the right to not see it if it offends me!" argument. Really? Show me where it says that in the Constitution.
