Short and sweet cut tag drama at vintage_meat
In an unfortunately deleted post, fuzzywarbles posts a grainy but hot (and worksafe) picture of Christopher Meloni, an actor best known for his roles on Oz and Law and Order: SVU. The problem with this is that she's hotlinking from http://barefoot.provocateuse.com/. Their way of smacking down hotlinkers is to switch the image for an enormous hot pink rectangle. People dogpile on the post with "holy god, cut plz!" comments. Other people get pissy that the first people don't want their retinas seared.

Prime wank we miss there: People fussing about how it ohmygod, like, takes up their whole friends pages and spills out onto their desks. People puppy-snarl at each other over whether or not hotlinking is teh bad. Someone clever snarks, "Wow, Christopher Meloni was fantastic in his role as gigantic pink monolith." Fuzzywarbles is nowhere to be found, nor is a mod.

Then fuzzywarbles shows up again and says Well, fucking fine! If no one appreciates her generosity, she's just going to take her prime cut of Chris and go home!

People say, "Dude, chill. Just host your own damn pictures and everything will be fine."

But she had no earthly idea what hotlinking is! And people complaining at her made trying to fix it too hard! And she has to go to work in the middle of the night! Oh noes!

Balamuthia apparently just doesn't like her attitude.

Some people try to be nice and go along with it being a mistake. After all, hotlinking isn't that big a deal, right? Wrong!

As a bonus side of non-wanky but still kind of amusing WTF? people start wondering who's steering this boat, anyway? As it turns out, the answer is, um, nobody. Which is not remotely hinted at by the fact that the community's main page background has been for at least a year, an Angelfire hotlinked image graphic.
