	Whenever I let slip to people that I don't use substances, some sneer, "Are you one of those sXe kids?" People like SorrowsXRequiem are exactly why I do not consider myself aligned with the punk/emo-sXe movement. The only reason I ever went to the sXe community in the first place was to try and learn more about a social scene that didn't involve drinking until you vomit. Unfortunately, while the Straight Edge scene is sober and doesn't call people wimps for not wanting to drink, it also seems to be rather violent, and I find that as much of a turnoff as anything else. After all, I can quite happily put up with boozers as long as they're not the violent, puking sort. People who'd smack you one when they're sober don't seem in any way superior to me.

Requiem is a barrel of laughs, though, isn't he? I can only imagine him in a social situation, scowling at people while cracking his knuckles. Great fun at parties, that guy :(

this is why i dislike straight edge. is there really that much to talk about? "dear community today not only did i not have sex with a prostitute but i also did not snort cocaine or roofies or VCR-head cleaner off him/her and also i did not drink with the prostitute i know you guys worry about that sort of thing so i wanted to ease your minds by telling you that. i love this community also i suck at introductions

Oh God. They're talking about Earth Crisis. (Some Earth Crisis lyrics: "A firestorm to purify the plague that society drowns in." Yes, they advocate bombing non-straightedgers.)

There's a lot of overlap between aggro macho right-wing jock assholes and straightedge. I walked out of a show once when a lead singer started talking about some prostitutes he'd seen on the way to the show, calling them "fucking whores" and such.

I'm totally not part of the punk scene anymore. I am straightedge, though I don't go throwing that label around all that much, because most people assume I'm one of these assholes.

seventhdagger.com HAS THE MOST AMAZING SHIRTS EVER. I'm not sXe (because OH NOES I DRINK WINE SOMETIMES AND LIKE SEX!!), but I really want to sport a shirt that says "Straight Edge Means I'll Kill You" with a big gun on it. Who the fuck doesn't want a shirt like that? It's the dumbest shirt ever and I like dumb shirts.

Although looking at that website design, it's terrible and was clearly done for free by the owner's friend or something. I could pull better graphics out of my ass in 5 minutes.
