Iconrants Weekend Wank
Elite Icon Communities are the hot topic over at iconrants.

There's been a rush of wank recently, enough for mod allyoops to call a 48 hour moratorium on the topic. She was nice enough to include links to five recent posts on the subject.

But I'll provide descriptions for you. Such as for this one from the_true_slayer which isn't so much a rant as it is "Defence for Elite Communities". You'll find nardasarmy, Allyoops, aRI and sweetteeth15 going at it over aRI's right to post her post among other things, and later satori_rahyne pipes up to say "shut up" and point out that the icons are fugly, which leads to more wank. Of course.

sweetteeth15's post complaining about lack of comments for icons and crediting trends is also left off the list, probably because it isn't really about elite comms. Except that the entire post is referencing n_o_c_t_u_r_n_e's previous post "of elitism, trends, and more peeves in the icon world". It's a bit tl;dr, but byouki sums it up in a sentence: I give this rant ** out of ***** since it was pretty much a public blowjob to all the elite icon comms out there. That thread is full of gems, including Sweetteeth15's statement that she created a trend style! (and also, earlier, that her icon has a border, not a box, and they are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THINGS).

detoxcocktails made a post back on the 11th where she defended elite comms to the world, but with two pages of comments (and the first few are the "word!" variety), I'm not willing to slog through for the wank. But it's there, even if it's tiny.

The first post in the Iconrants comm about elite comms was from supersyncspaz7 who bitches about being rejected when her icons weren't THAT bad, and again, not much wank, but detoxcocktails and sweetteeth15 show up. And like detoxcocktails' post, it helps set the stage for the recent posts.

sleepall_day's elite comm rant is friendlocked and mostly not wanky, but it's there if you want to join the comm and read it for yet ANOTHER complaint about the elites.


I've definitely missed some wanky stuff, and I probably should have put this on i_wank due to my own comments to the_true_slayer about how her own icon is crap and hopefully not indicative of the quality of her elite community, but it's only one teensy comment in a whole series of bitchings with a lot of much wankier/more stupid things to laugh at.
