I'm surprised no one picked up on this one. Very tiny wank, but still special.

Over on [info]mock_the_stupid, [info]boomstick posts a comment that occurred on [info]ohnothedidnt. Everyone points and laughs at the commenter as they are wont to do in MTS, when suddenly [info]vanita steps forward and comments that some of the comments toward the post are bordering on just plain mean. Things are civil in said thread, until [info]boomstick appears with a retort of That bitch deserved it. And wank occurs as [info]boomstick's comments quickly devolve into personally attacking [info]vanita along with using FONT SIZE OF 5 MILLION!!!! Sadly the thread is short lived, as the mod lays the smackdown.

Short, but sweet.

Shrugs. Who knows? Cultural ignorance? Momentary brain fart? Lack of exposure to Chinese writing?

I can sort of see someone who's ignorant of all things Chinese being shown Chinese that is actually English sidewise and posting the question without stopping to think it through. Don't get me wrong; it was a moronic question, but I can see where it came from.

I mean, I overheard my Comp I teacher telling a student about the Japanese honorific "-san", and though I didn't say anything unless I misheard, what I did hear sounded very, very wrong. I've seen plenty of people who can't grasp that the Japanese do not write "backwards".

I tihnk what she meant is that even though Chinese is written vertically, would one have to turn it horizontal (like English) in order to read it? She just didn't articulate it well. A nd it's kind of a foolish way to begin with.
However, I think being stupid in response to a stupid comment just creates more stupid, and the world's full up on stupid already.

Aargh, why did they have to bring Bruce Campbell in? Going to have to agree with boomstick here: The word/quote boomstick doesn't come until AoD, even if the coolest shotgun ever was made in Evil Dead 2.
