Over on Oh no they didn't They post a link to the ebay store selling the screeching woman bobblehead from Trading Spouses the other night.

Then the obvious troll pipes up on how the woman was acting justly and that any religion outside her own is wrong. Nice eh? Of course cf_hardcore gets in on it too.

EDIT: of course now the troll's journal is deleted.. gee I'm surprised..

Remember when it was difficult to spot a troll, because they were clever? Trolls aren't even trying anymore. It's sad.

We should start a Save the Troll fund. People could sponsor trolls and teach them how to do it properly.

I'm a little annoyed at Fox for dropping a lit match into a powder keg; what if the God Warrior had gotten violent? Guess they thought ratings were more valuable than risking lawsuits if someone was hurt or killed.

[info]kylenne

I agree with you but...it's Fox. Home of The Swan, and STD Paradise Hotel. Married By America. (Need I go on?) They would probably milk someone getting hurt for all the ratings they could.

I did read somewhere, maybe the mega thread on ONTD (I forgot), that they do all kinds of background checks on people before they let them on the show considering they are living in a total stranger's home for a week. Not that that necessarily helps, and I'm sure it's not out of any concern for the people involved, but Fox has all kinds of black belts in CYA (cover your ass).

Like that wasn't a train wreck waiting to happen. (I didn't watch it, so I don't know if it actually did, but I saw the previews, and... yeah.) Fox's motto is practically, "It's funny when people hurt."

Does anyone have a link to the second part of the show? I only managed to d/l the first episode and I can't find that huge mass thread where the bittorrent links were being given out.

That said, that doll SCARED me. Seriously. I'd buy one, but only to send it to my worst enemies. With a little note saying, "Pay attention, guys. She's outdoing you when it comes to sheer freaky BWUAH."

A conservative Christian family and a liberal New Age family traded mothers for a week. IMO, the Christian mother got pretty overbearing about trying to convert everybody in the New Age family, including making them go to church, witnessing quite a bit, being terribly rude to a psychic because he's dark sided and doesn't deserve politeness, and setting aside money to get all of them engraved Bibles. (I also found it annoying that Christian mom set aside about $3000 for one boy to get a dirt bike, $3000 for the second boy to do whatever he wanted with, and $1800 for the New Age mom to decide what to get for the daughter.) New Age mom seemed to be getting along mostly fine in the Christian family. They seemed to be taking a hands-off the beliefs strategy, on all sides. Once back home, Christian mom flipped out in a very amusing way. She just screamed on and on and on about how they were horribly, tainted, ungodly people, and she didn't want anything to do with tainted people... But she took the money anyways.

Yup. And she gave the daughter in the family zip.

I felt so very sorry for Crazy God Warrior's daughter, too. She seemed a well-adjusted kid, and one HELL of a dancer. I hope she comes out of there with her sanity intact, although that would seem miraculous.

I hope the God Warrior's daughter turns out okay, too. I'm sure she has to at least have a good sense of humor by now, which I hear helps with crazy parents.

well, you know, to many (NOT ALL) really conservative four-square Christian types, MEN ARE ALL. submissive wives and all that. So the daughter didn't DESERVE the same amount of money as the boys.

(ow. that hurt to think that way, even momentarily, icon in honor of batshit mom, from a fellow - but hopefully not batshit - Christian)

The interesting thing about this to me is that Wife Swap on ABC had a similar setup with a Christian family (who sounded like they were straight out of the Sopranos) switching moms with a Wiccan family. They actually ended the show being friends. But I've noticed that the participants on Wife Swap are more irritating as opposed to being absolutely batshit, and that show also doesn't give them any money.

Actually, I think Wife Swap gives each family $20K. It's just a straight $20K, though, they don't tell each other how to spend it.
