I thought Ginmar claimed to be a feminist. Guess the part of feminist theory in which women having autonomy over their bodies and making their own sexual choices is a good thing went right over her head - or was forgotten in the multiple recent experiences of death she's had. Dying that often can't be good for one's intellectual grasp of concepts. It's... really skincrawling, as well as misogynist and completely lacking in any resembling logic. No, no, you see only women who use the freedom they have with their bodies as an opportunity to sleep with one or more people of their preferred gender are actually fulfilling that part of feminist theory. Deciding that they don't wish to, for whatever reason, have sex is just a cheap excuse to hide the fact that their sexualities are still owned and repressed by the patriarchy! ...I feel dirty for typing that. Elizabeth Wurtzel represents a strange phenomenon in my reading habits. I absolutely hate her books and yet I've read three of them. I knew I hated her writing (and her) part way through Prozac Nation, but I still read Bitch and More, Now, Again. I really, really can't stand her. 	I used to own that book (I got it in an Oxfam shop - I thought it'd be interesting. It went to some other charity shop in time). I've never seen such long sentences. Curiously, I can't remember much of what the book's essays were actually about, but I remember that the sentences were big enough to fell a horse. (Reply to this)(Parent)

I keep wondering if the logic goes, You cannot be liberal and not have had sex. All who are not liberals are conservatives. All conservatives are black-and-white, moralistic religious whackos.
