Man, I don't agree with the tampon analogy, but I do agree with Barbara Walters. A mother breastfeeding on a plane in the seat next to me causes me discomfort not because of the boob (I don't care about boobs, I have them myself) but because on an airplane I'm going to be actually touching mother and infant with my arm and body, most likely. There's already such a lack of privacy on a plane, it's like I'm forced to intrude on someone's privacy in an uncomfortable situation already.

Also, the last time I travelled next to a woman with an infant I ended up with toys, drool, and babyfood all over my shirt. I really don't want human milk added to that.

To counter that experience, though, I must give credit to the British parents I sat next to on a 7-hour flight from Philadelphia to Manchester, England. They had an infant and a toddler, and they confided to me earnestly (when my face must have lit up with panic) that they had given both the kids doses of some sleeping meds as prescribed by their doctor.

I've never had such a pleasant experience on a flight as with those kids - even when they woke up near the end, their parents had things to distract them and dealt with them admirably.

So it can be done well, and even the woman I mentioned in my first post wasn't inconsiderate, just, I think, overwhelmed.

Question! (so I don't screw up again, because I didn't think I was being all that wanky and therefore thought it was cool to post over here) If you're commenting on something and it gets wanky, does that automatically mean you have to post in i_wank? Or was I actually being somewhat wanky? Because once I posted the wank on here, I stopped posting over there. (from my POV I was merely pointing out somethings at first and then I noticed how stupid people were being... stopped taking things so seriously and was just actually laughing at them.) ?? I mostly read f_w so I was hoping I had posted this to the right place the first time. But, I shall be happy to move this.

No, it's because I think you were being mildly wanky. In fact, the "pokes teh wankers" statement could even be considered a bit trollish, if you want to get technical. Though in all of it, I thought you had a rather condescending and antagonizing tone, what with the "kiddies" and "Earth logic." Your report of it was also blatantly biased, which I think people try to avoid so they don't sound like they're grudewanking or wanking themselves.

Though I'm probably biased since I find breast milk about 100 times more disgusting than menstrual blood and would be really sickened and uncomfortable if someone breast fed next to me on a plane, especially since I always get window seats and would be trapped for the duration.

The "nastiness" of bodily functions is all subjective, you see.

Ok. You're right about the condescending part with the "kiddies" and the "earth logic". Alas, I was merely trying to have fun because it was getting carried away and I must have gotten carried away right with them.

Also, I stopped posting over there as soon as I posted here to avoid the trolling thing. I'm not honestly trying to break any rules, which was why I was asking. So thanks for the honest answer back.

I don't agree with your sentiments, but I'm not going to fault you for being opinionated or posting this to the wrong place - I mean, you expressed doubt about that in the original post. You weren't obsinate about moving it or anything.
