Gay marriage wankery...
The Sinner is a message board for students at my university.

Pilmour Boy posts on the issue of gay marriage and civil partnerships.

Can you guess what the result is? Yes, wank.

Backfromspace had a post about gay marriages earlier, so I'll be repetitive. It's more of a PSA than a response to the wank.

If you have an significant other and you aren't married (het or straight), you ought to think about designating your partner as your health care proxy or surrogate. To do that you basically just sign a statement that you want your partner to be able make health care decisions for you if you're incapacitated. The laws vary in different countries and state-to-state, but I turned up this link with a google search on Health Care Surrogate Florida.

I hate to undermine one of the arguments for gay marriage, but there are a lot of conservative areas where it's not going to happen in the forseeable future. But some of the traditional advantages are available to unmarried couples if you shop around for them.

I'm going to go through them all and have a good yell at the stupid idiots when I've got time.
