Mommy! Mommy! Marshall said a bad word!
This isn't fandom, it isn't online, but damn I thought it was pretty wanky.

So, for whatever reason (as yet undisclosed) Source magazine and Eminem have been... mortal enemies who must utterly destroy each other in the way hip hop does these things. Nasty lyrics. Bad reviews. Scathing exposes.

The people (like Raymond 'Benzino' Scott) down at Source announce that they have found their ultimate weapon, their H-bomb. Something that will utterly crush and destroy him, hear the lamentations of his women (if he has any), black-eye his label yadda yadda yadda.

He's a racist! Mmmm... yeah. And... okay.

Em claims these are things he wrote when he was a stupid kid who just broke up with his black girlfriend. The people at Source say, "We gotta treat this the same way you treat Mike Tyson, like you treat Kobe Bryant, like you treat R. Kelly, like you treat O.J. Simpson."

(So... writing racist lyrics is the same as raping women, molesting underage girls, and killing your wife? Greeeeeat.)

Expect the fandom to get wanky as well. This one could be big.

....I hate the slimy little bastard myself, so I don't really care what happens to him either way. :/

Something doesn't compute.

I mean, I'm not Eminem's biggest fan (though I'm currently writing RPS involving him...) but if he was dangerously racist wouldn't you think that he'd be...well...doing somethat that WASN'T rapping? Getting out his musical...stuff...via Country and Western, I suppose, or something?

I mean, if you want to avoid black people, isn't the rap world the LAST place you wanna be?

And if you were seriously seriously racist, wouldn't tattooing the name of the band you are a member of- the only white member of, on your arms be dumb?

Not to mention spending most of your time on camera associating with black people?

I'm sure he wrote a song at one time that was racist. But I think that a whole lot of actions prove that whatever Eminem's issues are, and there are plenty, serious racism is not one of them.

*sigh*

Did anyone read this? Sweet JEBUS--what's with the capslock?

Also: Benzino can suck my dick. If you gotta hate to play the game*, you ain't worth shit.

*And for all 'a y'all that think Em hates, at least he has style.

Benzino himself is a fountain of wankalicious behavior. It's funny how "Source" magazine always give his albums four and five stars, even when the rest of the industry looks upon him as a joke... hmm, I wonder WHY.

I am a fan of Eminem, not a huge one, but i do like some of his songs. I guess i never really looked at his stuff as meaning to be harmful. He just lets out the dark stuff most of us repress for the sake of looking like a proper member of society, i think. It's probably pretty damn good therapy for him. And yeah, him a racist? Riiiight. Like him being a homophobe. Whatever.

*lives like 20 minutes from him*

Soooo... we're all raving homophobes on the inside and "repress" it to "look like a proper member of society"?

All I can say to that is, okay!

Thank you for saying that. Every single time someone comes the "They all really THINK it, we're just not brave/honest/hoTT!!!111 enough to say it!" routine, I want to point out that, actually, I give myself and the people I love rather more credit than that.

I don't think that was what she was trying to say, though. Or, I could be reading it wrong AGAIN.

I remain confused as to whether it was a quote or not, actually. But I just had to rant there. Red haze of murderous fury and all, you know. ;)

If that's not what was meant, then... I'd have to see what it did mean.

Uh ok, i'm being totally misunderstood here. Obviously i used bad wording. We're all homophobes and just repress it? Hardly. What i was trying to say is, most of us have frstrations in our lives that can cause bad feelings/rage/whatever at times. We find different ways to deal with it. You might go in a room and scream, write poetry or stories, whatever. Eminem puts it into his songs..kinda like his way of venting his demons. That's all i meant.

OK, that I agree with. I was reading it as "we're all homophobes and only he is brave enough to say it," although that clashed with "he's not a homophobe, really, apart from that whole 'hating gay people' thing."

;)

Anyway, disagree as I must with the "he's sunshine and puppy dogs" part, I do agree with the restated part, so thanks for the clarification.
