[info]stupidpetowners wank!
[info]lordperrin makes a post in the Stupid Pet Owner community over on LJ about U.S. Government plans to chip and track everyone's pets.

Surprisingly, the majority of the community are completely up for the idea. [info]lordperrin is not happy. It's fallacious arguments and strawmen at dawn.

Highlights:

Opposing this is like opposing Gay Marriage.

You've got nothing to be worried about if you've got nothing to hide. (Is there a [info]jurisimprudence law about using this argument, because there frickin' well should be.)

It's liberals like you that make 'normal' liberals like me look bad!

And other members do some stalking research and discover that [info]lordperrin is a supporter not only of the fur lifestyle, but bestiality! Oh Noes!

No furbashing. (Or, if you must, at least be original.) Merry Christmas Whatever!

This is hilarious because it's true. XD

*pokes own kitty in belly; is rewarded with noisy purring and tail flick but little else*

...What do you mean 'get her to do a trick'?

Haha! But I have a kitty who plays fetch!

Yes, really. She is odd. ... the others don't move around as much. And the one time I had a cat get lost, it's not like he went anywhere far away. He just wouldn't come back into the house. Most frustrating.

I'm jealous.

My cats won't stop moving and trying to destroy everything I own.

One has figured out how to open cabinets, he's only like two steps away from learning to use tools and then conquering the world.

Sounds like my little fatass. The only time he is mildly athletic is when he gets stuck somewhere and has to jump down or we bring home new food and he has to spend twenty minutes tearing into the bag. Oh, or if we get out the flashlight. Otherwise he just sits around and grows belly fat. Under the Christmas tree.

His sister, on the other hand, goes on mad rampages like a little psycho, and any time I am at my computer and get up for two seconds, she steals my chair and I have to type at a weird angle from the bed because I'm too soft and can't bear to move her.

So much kitty love in this thread! =^.^=

D'aw.

Both of mine seem to alternate between 'off' and 'on'. Off is just the lazy lying around and snuggling up to me while on is a full blown racing, chasing tear through the house accompanied by lots of hissing, paw slaps, and loud thumps. There's no set time for the switch in personality either; it's just POOF and they're off!

That's the draft plan to chip food animals to expedite tracking and controlling the spread of BSE.

I don't get the opposition of chipping pets. It's easy to lose a collar. Think of how many lost pets could be reunited if they were chipped? Or even better, think of how many negligent owners could be prosecuted when their pet is found abandoned in the streets.

The main reason why people are against chipping, as in the real one... As far as I can gather.

Is money.

Its pretty expensive, and some people just don't want to spend money on their pets.

OUCH.

Animal=/=human. How hard is that for people to understand?

I'm all for all sorts of consensual fucking between humans over the age of 13, no matter how pervy. But when you bring in a creature that doesn't understand what the hell s/he's doing, like a small child or an animal, THEN I get pissed.

In other words, you can love your animals, but just don't...love your animals. :D
