Wank in Girl Gamers!
extrophic_ghost does not like the Nintendo Revolution controller and says so.

He compares it to the PowerGlove, and claims that plans to make a "shell" for the controller won't work as they'd apparently have to be as long as the original controller.  Various people object, but the wank doesn't start until extrophic_ghost starts butting heads with shockingalberto.

Highlights include:  Accusations that Ghost is a Playstation Fanboy!
The Revolution is the console equivilent of the PSP!
People don't want revolution, they want things that are familiar!
Maybe gloves look different where you come from.

Really, I wouldn't consider this too wanky in and of itself...

Until extrophic_ghost decides to post the same complaint again.  In the same community, no less.

Highlights of this one include: I'm not a Sony Fanboy!  Honest!
Dancing on Gumpei Yukoi's Grave!  (Though I wish I knew what was in the deleted comments down there)
                                            Requests to stop deleting comments
Stay on topic or don't be insulting, and I won't delete your comments.
STOP COMPARING THE REVOLUTION TO THE DS, THEY"RE TOTALLY DIFFERENT
Ctrl+Alt+Del is trotted out to make a point that is completely missed.
                                            You are all sheep!

In the meantime, I'll be over here coveting paintobscura's icons.

Yes, I'm comparing the Revolution controller to the power glove. Even wikipedia is on my side

Oh my god, you guys! Wikipedia says he's right!

And if Wikipedia says it, it MUST be true!

Totally. Because it's not like I could make Wikipedia say that the Power Glove sprang forth from an unholy union of an oven-mitt and my fourth grade science teacher.

Sore loser. I always thought it was sort of an unspoken community rule that the only people who should be deleting comments are the mods.

What does everyone think of the Nintendo Revolution controller?

I think it's going to be the downfall of Nintendo.
Hey! You don't want a discussion! You just want people to agree with you!

Does anyone else think that the people who say the Rev controller will suck should just shut up until some demos of the console come out?

And now, reading the wank, the OP's denial is fearsome to behold.

OP: Yes, the PSP failed, because it tried to do many things, and that's why the Rev will fail!
Proleteriat: Um, the PSP failed because it tried to do too many things. The Revolution is first and foremost a game machine. That and the ability to download old ga-
OP: OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

I kinda lean towards the "It will suck" side based on looks alone, really. It seems so impractical.

Really? I thought that it was a step toward the intuitive contol that the ancestors of current controllers were developed as substitutes for.

Curse my large vocabulary.

I'm sure that's the intention behind it's design, but I honestly think it's a step backwards rather than forwards, or at least a step to the side in some off direction.

the problem with intuitive control is that once you've been trained to use something non-intuitive, intuition is itself mixed up. For example, Querty keyboards v. Dvorak.

Personally, I think it won't be that great. From the looks of it, people will need to practice the "finger split" to reach two button at the same time...

[info]mcity

It's implied that moving the controller will do most of the work. And the nunchuk add-on will be shipped with the console. What two buttons would you need to press at once?

(Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Some fighting game would probably need two button being press at once. Unless they make a new genre of fighting game where only one is needed.

Then again, extropic_ghost is easier to point and laugh at, so I'll let it slide.
