I can't wait for the Oscars this year!
Jon Stewart has been chosen as host for the 2006 Oscars! Okay, he's rumored, but I think it's pretty much confirmed. Of course, with Jon Stewart comes political wank, and with political wank comes stupid people.

...What the hell? Are these people just trolling around the internets WAITING ON PINS AND NEEDLES for someone on the left to pop up so they can bash them? Jon Stewart is hardly on the same level as Michael Moore or, to take the other slant, Ann Coulter (who is speaking at my university... BLECH!!!). And dude, it's near impossible to be a comedian and avoid making Bush jokes. Hell, he makes them without any help half the time.

Sometimes I really, really hate conservatives. The sane ones need to get out there and gag these crazies.

This whole thing about BUSH JOKES OH NOOOESE!!!! makes me a little worried for the future of comedy. Um, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't making fun of the president a tradition comedians have been holding up since the invention of late night television? I seem to remember a lot of Bush Sr. jokes involving broccoli and Clinton jokes involving cigars.

I never understood the political wank over 'ole Jon. To my knowledge, he's never hesitated to mock all facets of the political spectrum, liberal, conservative, republican, democratic or otherwise.
