I am envious of men today who know from an early scan what sex their child will be, and have several months to reconcile themselves to the idea that a girl is on the way.

An amusing, and slightly related, story: After my little sister was born, someone asked my father if he and my mom were going to "try again" (presumably for a boy). He looked at the man like he was crazy and said, "God, no, we've gotten lucky twice, why tempt fate?"

'course, he taught me how to change the oil in a car and grill steaks, which is probably why I'm a lesbian.
